The person will be enhancing our brand presence and driving engagement across various digital platforms. The Social Media Coordinator will be implementing a comprehensive social media strategy and will report progress to the Marketing Director. This position will be supported by two part-time interns.

Develop and Execute Social Media Strategy:

Collaborate with Marketing Director to develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy across multiple platforms, including but not limited to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Align all social media efforts with YMU’s brand identity and messaging to ensure consistent representation. Curate and publish compelling content that reflects our YMU’s mission and engages our online community.

Design and Produce Digital Content:

Design engaging and original social media posts using Canva and Adobe. Capture videos for social media utilizing phone and professional camera equipment. Edit short-form videos tailored to social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Youtube. Develop creative briefs for in-house and external designers, photographers, and videographers to ensure the production of visually appealing and on-brand assets.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with various departments to ideate, plan, and produce content, including short-form videos, long-form videos, photos, and graphics, suitable for various digital channels. Collaborate with designers, videographers, and photographers to bring creative concepts to life.

Social Media Calendar Management:

Maintain an organized social media calendar, ensuring timely and relevant content postings across all platforms. Optimize content scheduling to maximize engagement and reach while adapting to evolving trends and audience behaviors.

Trend Implementation:

Stay informed about the latest social media trends and algorithm changes to integrate innovative ideas into YMU’s social strategy. Apply your insights to enhance our content and engagement strategies, keeping YMU aligned to digital trends.

Live Event Coverage:

Capture captivating videos and photos during live events, showcasing the excitement and essence of the moment.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred. Experience with content creation, video production, and/or graphic design. Please attach a content creation portfolio link to resume. Experience with video editing softwares (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro). Strong understanding of social media platforms (particularly TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram). SKILLS Graphic Design and Photo Editing (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign) Camera Skills (iPhone and/or professional equipment) Video Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, TikTok) Google Suite (proficiency with Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Drive) Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Basecamp (YMU uses this as a project management platform)

Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written). Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to connect and engage individuals from all backgrounds and levels. Demonstrate excellent time management skills, meet time sensitive deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Communicate effectively and respectfully with members of the team. Passionate about music education. Ability to think outside the box and resolve problems creatively.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary:

$55,000 Additional $150 monthly Health Care Stipend Workers Comp. 10 Days paid vacation (this increases over time) 18 Days paid time off for holidays
