Director of Communications 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 2032 Westfield Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 General Description The Director of Communications is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that effectively conveys the Parish’s mission, vision, and opportunities to parishioners and the broader community. This role ensures consistent, engaging, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms. Key Responsibilities Digital & Print Media Manage and maintain the parish website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube). Regularly update and maintain the parish mobile app. Design, coordinate, and publish the weekly parish bulletin, upload to the website. Create and distribute high-quality digital content including graphics, photos, videos, and written posts. Develop and implement editorial calendars and multimedia campaigns to promote parish life and discipleship. Content Strategy & Analytics Track and tag digital content featuring parish and school ministries. Monitor online engagement and performance metrics; use analytics to optimize content and grow audience reach. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve communication strategies and SEO. Collaboration & Coordination Collaborate with parish staff and ministry leaders to ensure cohesive messaging. Coordinate and distribute the weekly schedule of events to staff. Maintain and oversee the parish calendar. Utilize Flock Note for parish-wide updates and mass communications. Create digital forms using Parish Soft for staff and ministry needs (training provided). Technology & Innovation Implement website and database updates in collaboration with the Faith Formation team. Stay current with trends in digital communication, social media, and IT tools. Participate in ongoing training related to communications technology and platforms. Qualifications & Skills Strong commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church; working knowledge of the Catholic faith. Proficiency in website management, social media platforms, and SEO best practices. Skilled in photography, videography, and content editing. Experience with graphic design software and tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva). Comfortable working in a Mac environment. Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Strong computer, organizational, collaborative, and communication skills. Job Type:
Part-time Pay:

$30,000.00 per year Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
