Google Search Console Senior level Google Analytics 2 years Marketing HTML Full Job Description The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Director of Web Experience and Strategy. Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation, the Director of Web Experience and Strategy is responsible for overseeing the administration, maintenance, and evolution of the University of Tennessee Foundation’s Alumni and Advancement WordPress websites. This role will ensure that UTFI’s alumni and donor digital presence remains engaging, accessible, secure, and aligned with Foundation’s goals. This role will bridge technology, design, and content to create a seamless and consistent web experience for alumni, donors, and stakeholders. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Platform Administration:

Manage all aspects of UTFI’s WordPress multisite installation, including core updates, plugin management, and security, while actively monitoring site health and leading troubleshooting efforts. This role also involves implementing, managing, and evolving the Salesforce Experience Cloud alumni and donor portal, ensuring secure access and seamless integration with other platforms.

User Experience and Site Optimization:

Implement UX and accessibility enhancements to maintain

WCAG 2.2

AA+ compliance, alongside optimizing visual hierarchy, responsive behavior, and page speed. Additionally, administer SEO metadata and oversee the technical development and management of a new alumni class notes portal, while supporting the creation of high-impact microsites.

Digital Strategy Support:

Build and maintain donor-optimized landing page templates with A/B testing and comprehensive tracking integration (UTMs, GA4, GTM). Serve as a technical liaison for third-party integrations and providing UX/technical input for digital campaigns to ensure both innovation and platform stability.

Training and Internal Support:

Develop and maintain internal documentation and manage access permissions for UTFI’s WordPress multisite network. This includes conducting periodic training for site editors and proactively recommending upgrades based on WordPress core and plugin developments. Required Education and Experience The candidate who fills the Director of Web Experience and Strategy position is required to have: Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience with a master’s degree managing and administering WordPress sites, preferably in a multisite environment 2+ years of supervisory experience including interns and students. Proficiency with core WordPress functionality, plugins (e.g., Gravity Forms, Yoast, WP Engine tools), and custom theme configuration Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic PHP/JavaScript for troubleshooting Understanding of web accessibility, SEO principles, and performance optimization A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position. Note – Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 3 years of experience. Preferred Education and Experience In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have: Experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or advancement settings Knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4), Tag Manager, and Search Console Familiarity with Salesforce, Experience Cloud, or Marketing Cloud Comfort navigating multiple priorities and collaborating with cross-functional teams
