E-commerce Specialist 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 40 Rex Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28054 PRIMARY

FUNCTION

The primary function or overall purpose of the position. Under the direction of management, this position performs marketing, customer service, inventory monitoring, and order fulfillment related to Meridian Mill House e-commerce business, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of the position as described above are: Engage in all aspects of the Meridian Mill House e-commerce business to grow it to next level. Perform customer service functions via phone and email, including: o Assist with the ordering process. o Approve wholesale registrations. o Assist with return authorizations. o Follow-up on abandoned cart items. Prepare social media postings, including filming and narration of videos. Monitor activities of competitors, including: o Pricing. o Product comparisons to Mill House products. o Marketing activities. Maintain customer database and direct customer marketing (e-mail blasts.) Establish and maintain a promotions calendar. Maintain Meridian Mill House website. Analyze social media spending and returns. Monitor inventory and conduct planning functions. Fulfill/pack orders when necessitated by order volumes and/or warehouse staffing levels. Interact with Quality personnel to establish standards and resolve quality issues. Perform minor finance-related tasks. Prepare for and attend trade shows (will include overnight travel.) Run a company store (if created in the future.) Work onsite in Ranlo every day, unless attending off-site functions. Represent MSYG in a positive and professional manner in all interactions and correspondence with customers. Create a positive experience for MSYG and Meridian Mill House customers by accurately responding to inquiries and resolving complaints. Maintain records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints. Learn and maintain individual inventory/shipment reports for customers. Learn the manufacturing process to help articulate accurate ship dates and help decide priorities within manufacturing. Interact with company manufacturing managers and sales managers to prioritize production goals and meet delivery dates given to customers. Ensure that all orders, both small and large, from the Meridian Mill House webpage are packaged efficiently and shipped properly to ensure a 2-3 day fulfillment period using various carriers (UPS, USPS, etc.) Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. • Observe all safety and quality procedures while completing required duties. Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner to insure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Measurable statistics which this position impacts, such as production expenses, maintenance expenses, sales volumes, payroll costs, capital expenditures, research budgets, cost of purchases, value of inventories controlled, employees supervised (direct and indirect) include the following: Careful and accurate data entry will avoid costly overruns or incorrect products being manufactured. Providing timely, accurate information as needed to customers, sales, and manufacturing personnel will enhance the customer service experience for both external and internal customers. Reliable customer service will build partnerships with customers.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Specialized knowledge and/or additional skill(s) which the position requires (i.e. technical, scientific, administrative, managerial, unique problems encountered, special freedom to take action, critical outside contacts, exceptional working conditions etc.) include the following: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three years of related experience and/or training preferred. Textile background and interest preferred. Textile degree a plus. Marketing abilities along with knowledge of Adobe Creative products preferred. Knowledge of social media. Knowledge of e-commerce platforms preferred (i.e. Shopify.) Knowledge of and interest in yarn and yarn crafts (knitting, crocheting, weaving, hand dyeing, spinning, felting, etc.) preferred. Interest in teaching others about their crafts. Ability to write blog posts. • Excellent oral and written communications skills and relationship-building abilities. Strong critical thinking skills. Continuous-improvement mindset and ability to drive change. Must have a valid Driver License. Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control preferred. Ability to learn computer programs (i.e. inventory and manufacturing software and spreadsheets.) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete daily reports and correspondence. Ability to coach and train new employees as needed. Ability to work well autonomously as well as within a team environment while achieving a common goal. Professional in all verbal and written communication as well as in face-to-face interaction with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and supervisors. Proficient in navigating social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.) Must have and be able to display strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with good attention to detail, and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects/tasks. Ability to make quick and accurate decisions in order to correct quality issues. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use formulas to convert weights and measurements (i.e. converting grams to pounds.) Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel. • Knowledge of inventory management. Must be able to receive electric pallet jack training and demonstrate hands-on skills proficiency. • Legible handwriting to complete paperwork. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems that deal with several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will regularly work in an office environment with controlled heating and air conditioning. The noise level in the office work environment is low and no hearing protection is required. Appropriate hearing protection is required while in the plant environment and will be provided by MSYG. Appropriate PPE is required during the performance of certain duties and will be provided by MSYG. Appropriate shoes are required to be worn in the manufacturing environment (closed-toe and closed-heel with anti-slip soles, flat, and in good condition.) Must adhere to all departmental safety rules and attire when in the manufacturing areas.
