Job Description

Organization Overview The Development Program provides in excess of $50 million in private support annually toward the mission of The Rockefeller University,which is to improve the understanding of life for the benefit of humanity. Working with the Board of Trustees and volunteer groups,including The Rockefeller University Council,the Committee on Trust and Estate Plans,and the Women and Science and Parents and Science Initiatives,the Development Office oversees all private fund-raising at the University,including annual,capital,and endowment campaigns. Overview Reporting to the Associate Director, Development Campaign, the Development Assistant II supports the mission of The Rockefeller University by providing high-level administrative, logistical, and operational support to the Major Gifts group and development team. This position plays a vital role in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of philanthropic support for biomedical research and the administration of major donor-funded awards and fellowships.

Responsibilities Responsibilities include:

Draft, proofread and copy edit written materials (letters, proposals, budgets, reports, briefing materials, and promotional pieces) Create and maintain major donor records in Blackbaud CRM and shared drive, track proposals, reporting deadlines, and acknowledgments, run and format giving reports, and ensure accuracy of data Support the management of print and digital materials Coordinate meetings, site visits, and other events, including scheduling, logistics, preparation of meeting materials, taking accurate meeting notes, and producing reports Collaborate with other Development Office teams on programs and university events upon request, including the university’s annual fundraisers, Convocation, lectures, symposia, and other events Provide general administrative assistance to the department, performing such duties as responding to emails, answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, updating calendars, and other tasks as needed Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required Must have 1-2 years of prior experience working in development, major gifts, or operations Excellent communication and organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and be capable of multi-tasking in a demanding environment Ability to work as a member of a highly collaborative office, be responsive to feedback, and produce time-sensitive materials, and handle confidential information Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with diverse personalities An interest in and ability to prepare high quality materials for sophisticated audiences Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and an understanding of database programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Keynote, fundraising software/Blackbaud CRM, Adobe Creative apps (Photoshop and Illustrator, is desired Interest in science is a plus. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Compensation Range:

Min USD $52,000.00/Yr.

Compensation Range:

Max USD $55,000.00/Yr.
