Job Description
The Marketing Manager plays a critical role in the Product Marketing Group, taking the lead responsibility for developing plans and executing marketing initiatives in support of our kids menu, core menu and strategic daypart initiatives (late night, daypart menus) which help reinforce the brand’s overall marketing strategy. Additionally, the Manager leads menu support for our non-traditional travel center locations and regional menus. Accordingly, the Manager collaborates closely with internal business partners in Operations, Product Marketing, Product Development, Consumer Insights and Finance to develop programs that demonstrate clear potential to generate long-term sales & traffic gains while ensuring these initiatives are communicated clearly and implemented effectively, Additionally, the Manager takes a lead role in managing external vendor partners in support of their projects. Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities) Leads select product initiatives for the brand (including programs such as Kids Menus) and supports initiatives (like Core Menus & Strategic Daypart Initiatives) that can effectively drive traffic and deliver profitable sales. Manages the product implementation process for non-traditional travel center locations and regional menus. Oversees all calendar & core menu testing efforts (food-related – not value) from planning, development, execution, and analysis as well as communications, inventory management, pricing, projections, and operational feedback Manages programs from development to testing to national launch with effective communication and flawless execution Partners with Product Development to identify key areas of opportunity for new products that will meet existing customer needs and drive traffic to our restaurants specifically for these growth channels and occasions. Writes briefs for agency partners to guide the development of creative material, enabling them to deliver on the project’s strategic vision (kids menu) Consults with merchandising teams to ensure that in-restaurant creative materials deliver on the brand strategy Provides direction to and coordinates research needs with Consumer Insights group for assigned projects Plans, develops, executes, and analyzes marketing tests and recommends action steps Attends key meetings as needed to present and capture notes; Runs cross-functional team meetings and works with teams to populate key information Supports the Product Marketing team on ad-hoc initiatives Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements Education:
5 – 7 years’ work experience; marketing or related function in retail/restaurant industry preferred
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required Required Knowledge and Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Significant experience with PowerPoint and Excel. Strong attention to detail. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Must be systems-oriented with the ability to learn the Hyperion system, experience with budgeting/reporting systems preferred Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; able to quickly build cooperative and productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.
