The Senior Analyst, Strategic Deal Management, will work with Sales, Marketing/Portfolio, and Finance stakeholders to lead, optimize, and coordinate strategic customer contract and large deal negotiations within key segments of our Food business. This position will also work with our Strategic Deal Management team to keep our contract management database updated, administer formula pricing adjustments, and provide customer RFP support. Leads key customer contract negotiation and large deal process
- Quarterbacks the contract negotiation process for Food customer accounts in coordination with Sales, Marketing, Portfolio, and Finance stakeholders; optimizes profitability of deals by bringing best practices and ideas that add value considering our relative bargaining power in each negotiation; summarizes business case and recommended approach in professional slide deck for leadership approval; product lines/portfolios of direct responsibility will initially include Case Ready and support for Shrink Bags
Supports contract management process improvement via utilizing and updating our Contract Tracker for all contract updates and governance requirements; supports assessment of new contract management tracking needs in coordination with Legal and IT teams
Coordinates customer RFP responses•Leads RFP response process for customers within responsible market segments; implements best practices and recommends optimal response to requested commercial conditions; coordinates response activities and leadership approval process with key stakeholders
Drives profit improvement activities•Works with Portfolio, Marketing, and Finance teams to identify opportunities for targeted price increase activities to improve our profitability across key product lines and supported customer accounts
Supports the formula price management process•Manages the administration of formula price agreements across supported market segments
Tracks market index price trends•Tracks and updates a variety of market indices that impact our cost and margin performance monthly across our Food business (e.
g., resin price indices, feedstock costs, PPI trends, fuel cost trends, etc.)
Supports account planner process
- Supports customer account planner strategy development with Sales and Marketing to synthesize and optimize our customer negotiation strategy for identified accounts.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required
2-4+ years of experience in product marketing/portfolio management, contract management, or financial management within the food or industrial manufacturing industry
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Product marketing, contract management, purchasing, or finance backgrounds are preferred
Able to understand complex issues and can clearly articulate complex ideas
Excellent project management, organization, attention to detail, and follow-up
Strong negotiation skills and analytical abilities to identify issues and self-start programs
Ability to communicate clearly & liaise broadly across functions
Deadline & detail oriented
Demonstrated ability to champion change, influence, and drive results in a complex organization
Excellent relationship-building skills complemented by the proven ability to work with others, especially across team boundaries
Intellectually curious, self-motivated
Ability to be self-directed and handle ambiguous environments
Proficient with Office 365
- Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
Power BI data analysis/dashboard creation skills and SAP ERP system experience are a plus
