Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Limtied Term Marketing Assistant on the Dahonega camus. This role supports UNG Press across a variety of areas, including marketing, social media, and content creation such as blog posts, newsletters, and podcast development. Responsibilities also include author and event support, administrative tasks, website updates, and editorial assistance like proofreading and copyediting. Additionally, the position involves coordinating peer reviews and helping with outreach and promotional efforts for books and events. Responsibilities Marketing and Social Media
- Create and schedule engaging social media posts, newsletters, blog content, and promotional graphics aligned with UNG Press¿s voice and branding.
Content Creation and Podcast Support - Draft and format blog posts, author interviews, and assist with developing podcast episodes, including research and script outlines.
Outreach and Author Support - Conduct marketing research, prepare author marketing kits, and assist with outreach to bookstores, organizations, and event partners.
Editorial and Production Assistance - Support proofreading and light copyediting of marketing and book materials, review content for quality and style, and assist in production tasks.
Website and Administrative Tasks - Help update the press’s website, manage general email inquiries, and organize files and information for authors and editors.
Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
Professional knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (graphic design), Hootsuite, and Canva.
Professional knowledge of Social media admin (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
Professional knowledge of standard English grammar and syntax.
Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style editing. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 1 year experience in publishing, marketing, publicity, social media, and/or communications.
