The Marketing & Communications Associate is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, campaigns, and content that share the impact of Villa of Hope. This role oversees branding, graphic design, communications, digital media, and storytelling to support fundraising, events, and internal initiatives. Working closely with the Agency Advancement team, this position plays a vital role in engaging the community, increasing visibility, and enhancing donor and public engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for developing and implementing a multi-channel marketing and communications plan aligned with the agency’s strategic goals and objectives. Monitor campaign metrics and adjust tactics for optimization for social media, website and email campaigns. Design and distribute branded collateral (print and digital) for programs, events, and campaigns. This includes but is not limited to: Business Cards Annual Reports Program Brochures Invitations Corporate Identity Materials Create original content for internal and external newsletters, direct mail, emails, Villa’s Hope Notes, and BluePrints publications. Lead storytelling initiatives, including collecting interviews, capturing photography/video, writing impact stories and signed media release forms. Actively and consistently seeks out PR opportunities in the Rochester market and ensures all communications follow brand guidelines. Support development and fundraising communications projects and is a member of the agency advancement committee Supports youth internships in collaboration with Villa’s Vocational Education and Work Based Learning Program. Manages community sponsorships for the agency and other community relations activities that enhance the image of the agency (ie, ad placements, appearances at events) Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Agency Advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field. 2-5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, communications & public relations. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms. Strong editing, written and verbal communication skills with an ability to create compelling marketing materials Graphic design experience required. Experience with photography, videography, and basic video editing preferred.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Comprehensive knowledge of standard marketing tools and demonstrated experience with web, social media, collateral development/design and PR tools. Must have a portfolio to share, to illustrate muti-channel campaigns executed in the past, graphic design samples, and copywriting samples. Examples of finished video projects a plus. A strong interest in storytelling, branding, and community engagement. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to develop relationships across teams and departments. Willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends for events or campaigns. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Hybrid role with frequent use of computers and design equipment. Occasional off-site visits for photos, events, or interviews.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in an office setting using a computer. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Occasional nights and weekends. Travel as needed for department events. Driver’s license required.
