Job Description

Marketing and Fundraising Assistant 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 799 Old Route 119 Hwy N, Indiana, PA 15701 Overview The Marketing and Fundraising Assistant will assist with the implementation of various marketing, fundraising and administrative projects and activities in support of the goals of the United Way. Creates support materials and written communications that effectively promotes the campaign, the United Way brand and its initiatives that are making a positive impact in the community. Assists the Director of Marketing and Resource Development with developing and implementing a year-round social and digital media campaign that promotes the United Way brand message and aligns with needs of the community and organizational goals. Researches material from partner agencies and other relevant sources to create content for social media and electronic newsletters. Assists with graphic design and written content for marketing and campaign materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, pledge forms, electronic newsletter, annual report, etc. Assists with preparing and/or updating website pages, online giving and event ticket purchasing sites. Schedules promotional opportunities for staff and/or volunteers with the radio, newspaper and other outlets. Assists with implementation of special event activities, including event planning, soliciting donations, purchase and/or preparation of materials, set up/tear down, recording meeting minutes, tracking data, or other duties as may be required. Develops and maintains databases to track special event attendance, volunteers and sponsors’ information and preferences for event support. Researches and assists with editing information to keep the donor database current and relevant. Assists with researching newspapers, special interest advertising publications, social media, mailers, digital publications, etc to build and grow the mailing list of current and prospective donors for the direct mail campaign, event invitation lists and sponsorship prospects. Maintains historical archives. Obtains quotes for projects such as mailers, campaign and marketing materials, and other outsourced projects as needed. Tracks details of quoted orders such as quantity, cost, details of print requirements, etc. Coordinates mailings including stuffing envelopes, sourcing, communicating and overseeing volunteer assistance, etc. Compiles workplace campaign packets and prepares and delivers packages for each employer as needed. Creates or updates spreadsheets as needed to support various projects for the Executive Director and Office Manager such as allocations, workplace campaigns, community impact needs, print and supply quotes comparisons, etc. Requirements Associates degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Nonprofit Leadership, Business or related field preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in PR, marketing, communications, fundraising, special event planning and implementation, graphic design, data tracking, or general administrative support. Must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with multiple layers, variables and shared resources. Must have a keen eye for creativity and graphic design. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer software applications including MS Office, donor databases, and graphic design software, etc. Must be positive, energetic, creative, innovative and insightful. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Must be team oriented, self motivated, possess good judgment, and have the ability to work independently yet take and follow direction.
