MARKETING MANAGER, STRUCTURAL INTERVENTIONS
– St. Jude Medical (an Abbott Labs Co.) / Hollywood, FL Develop and grow market presence in Caribbean and Latin American (CALA) Structural Heart Structural Intervention (SI) markets. Report to CALA Structural Heart Group Marketing Manager and will have full CALA accountability. Work closely with CALA Structural Heart Country Managers, other CALA Structural Heart Marketing leaders, Structural Heart Global Marketing and US/EMEA Training leaders to ensure successful product launch, sales force training and expansion of Structural Heart SI businesses. Responsible for creating a strategic direction of all downstream commercial marketing activities portfolio for CALA region (PFO, LAA, Congenital). Implement existing training Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales force and professional education related to SI in markets. Ensure strategy aligns with divisional commercial and financial objectives of short/medium/long-term growth and existing training SOPs. Develop marketing, promotional and sales plans in short/medium/long-term increments (1-3 years), for medical device and/or healthcare products, considering differences in markets, varying product life cycles, regions and countries, product availability, investments, resources, product positioning, defined strategies, prices, commercial and financial goals (margins for each product). Lead and coordinate NPI (New Product Introduction) processes for the region, assuring clear communication and correct prioritization according to the business needs. Present proposals for marketing, promotional and sales planning to decision committees in region and within business unit. Monitor implementation of defined strategic objectives, analyze tendencies and identify opportunities and new competitive advantages to define actions that guarantee the achievement of defined commercial and financial goals for SI products. Monitor commercial and financial performance of SI products, compare Plan to Actual results, analyze market trends of products, company, profitability and contribution of each product and correct and/or optimize results. Lead the product launch process, alterations and/or product discontinuations in the SI product portfolio and complying with the processes and procedures defined by the company. Build and maintain relationships with SH Global Marketing organization and verify availability of inventory, changes in part numbers and specifications to define sales and marketing strategies for commercialization of products in CALA region. Define strategies of approach, promotion and promotional material for SI products. Identify positioning, benefits and key messages. Define specific strategies for relationships with groups of influence for SI products. Segment the market and define clear strategies for the different clusters. Identify possible synergy opportunities and implement pilot projects. Maintain relationships with groups of influence and promote the positioning of SI products. Creative solutions development to navigate in different business models. Accompany visits with sales force, provide coaching and identify needs for CALA region. Assure the correct positioning and messaging is being adopted and spread. Build and maintain relationships with the SH Global Training organization. Implement and monitor existing training SOPs to sales force and physicians. Conduct training for the sales force and monitor results. Assure high scientific knowledge levels of group, including distributor markets. Communicate strategies of SI products to sales force and incentivize adoption of planned actions. Ensure that promotional materials and training procedures are in line with defined strategies. Create reports/dashboard with managerial information for SI products considering local and international requirements. Manage multiple simultaneous projects and product life cycles for SI product portfolio and create alternatives that ensure profitability and product longevity. Position requires up to 50% domestic and/or international travel. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or in a related field of study with least 3 years of experience in: (i) developing marketing, promotional and sales plans in short/medium/long-term increments (1-3 years), for medical and/or healthcare products, considering differences in markets, varying product life cycles, regions and countries, product availability, investments, resources, product positioning, defined strategies, prices, commercial and financial goals (margins for each product); (ii) leading and coordinating NPI (New Product Introduction) processes for a region; (iii) leading product launch processes, alterations and/or product discontinuations in product portfolios and complying with the processes and procedures defined by the company; (iv) managing multiple simultaneous projects and product life cycles for product portfolios, and creating alternatives that ensure profitability and product longevity. Positions requires up to 50% domestic and/or international travel. An EOE. 40 hrs/wk.
