Job Summary of the Downstream Marketing Manager The Axogen Downstream Marketing Team is committed to executing high-impact strategies that increase technology and technique awareness, optimize commercial excellence processes, and drive market adoption of Axogen’s innovative portfolio. As a Downstream Marketing Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring successful execution of marketing initiatives that support account development, product growth and strategic marketing objectives. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute impactful marketing programs in the field. You will work closely with sales, account development team, market development, and other key stakeholders to drive therapy awareness programs, institutionalize nerve repair algorithms across multiple specialties within healthcare accounts, and optimize commercial execution. Reporting to the Director, Downstream Marketing, this role provides significant opportunities for leadership development and career growth within Axogen. Requirements of the Downstream Marketing Manager Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree (MBA) or equivalent experience is preferred. Minimum 3+ years of proven success in product management, marketing or sales, with a strong focus in pharmaceutical, diagnostics, medical device, or other healthcare industry. Experience developing and launching new technologies in the medical field is a plus. Therapy awareness and/or market development experience is preferred. Experience regarding New Market Expansion or expanding products and/or therapies into new markets or surgical applications is highly preferred. Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills; Excellent ability to convey complex information to various audiences. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities with a focus on delivering measurable results. Ability and willingness to travel domestically (up to 50%) to support customer engagements and training . Responsibilities of the Downstream Marketing Manager The specific duties of the Downstream Marketing Manager include but are not limited to: Therapy Awareness & Market Development Develop, plan, and implement educational and marketing activities to raise awareness of advanced treatment options within the healthcare community. Execute high-impact Therapy Awareness events to increase access to Axogen’s portfolio solutions. Build strong relationships with healthcare providers, advocacy groups, and industry leaders to drive market expansion and therapy awareness. Develop regional referral pathways for patients needing specialized evaluation for advanced therapies. Provide clinical expertise and educate healthcare providers on patient selection for Axogen’s solutions. Create patient care pathways to identify high-risk patients who may benefit from Axogen’s therapies. Deliver education to patient support groups and networks to enhance public awareness of treatment options. Assist hospitals in developing marketing materials, CME symposiums, and educational conferences. Institutionalize nerve repair algorithms broadly across specialties at key healthcare accounts to drive consistent treatment approaches. Commercial Execution & Sales Enablement Drive optimization of commercial excellence processes to ensure smooth execution of marketing programs and sales initiatives. Support development of sales tools, training programs, and resources that enhance sales team effectiveness and drive product adoption. Collaborate with sales teams to identify and execute strategies that improve market penetration and expand commercial reach. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of therapy awareness programs, demand generation efforts, and promotional campaigns. Effectively communicate and collaborate with field team members and sales leadership teams to ensure alignment of marketing efforts. Lead initiatives that establish best practices in account development, ensuring a structured approach to engaging institutions and expanding therapy adoption across multiple disciplines. Marketing Communications & Conference Planning Support marketing communication programs that enhance technology and technique awareness. Help create impactful sales collateral, digital content, and educational resources to support marketing and sales initiatives. Support planning and execution of major conferences, trade shows, and industry events to maximize brand presence and drive lead generation. Ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across all marketing channels. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration Foster strong partnerships with internal teams, including sales, account development, medical affairs, product development, clinical, sales training and market development, to align marketing initiatives with business objectives. Effectively communicate with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and strategic partners, to drive market expansion. Support strategic planning initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations that influence key business decisions. Work closely with hospital administrators and healthcare systems to embed nerve repair algorithms into clinical practice, ensuring broad adoption across institutions.
