Chief Marketing Officer About The Salty:

We’re more than a donut shop. We’re a chef-driven, craft-focused brand on a mission to create moments of connection through the highest quality donuts, coffee, and baked goods, all made in-house. As we expand into new cities and launch new offerings (hello, all-day café), we’re looking for a Director of Marketing who’s hungry to grow something special and knows how to translate strategy into results. Position Overview As Director of Marketing at The Salty, you’ll be responsible for leading all marketing functions—digital and physical—across the brand. You’ll drive same-store sales growth, guest frequency, and retention by overseeing social strategy, email/CRM, loyalty, partnerships, product launches, new store openings, and integrated brand campaigns. You’ll be expected to balance data-driven strategy with cultural relevance, managing execution while maintaining a cohesive brand voice across channels. This is a critical leadership role for a performance-minded marketer who thrives in a high-growth, hands-on environment and has experience across digital, experiential, and in-store guest journeys.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities Same-Store Sales, Retention, and Frequency Own and execute marketing strategies that drive traffic, repeat visits, and revenue across all store locations. Analyze guest data and campaign performance to iterate and improve ongoing efforts. Lead calendar planning and campaign rollout for promotions, seasonal products, and new category launches (croissants, café items, etc.). Optimize loyalty program and CRM campaigns to improve engagement and LTV. Integrated Marketing & Brand Building Develop and manage a cohesive marketing calendar aligned with business objectives. Oversee storytelling and content strategy across email, social, in-store, and digital touchpoints. Collaborate with creative and culinary teams to launch products with a 360-degree approach. Digital Marketing & CRM Lead email marketing strategy, segmentation, and lifecycle journeys. Drive app engagement and first-party data collection through performance marketing and owned channels. Social Media & Content Collaborate with our social team to build & approve content strategy and visual direction across platforms. Manage the social team to create brand-relevant, high-performing content that drives awareness, buzz, and sales. Manage our social team’s influencer and creator collaboration strategies with an emphasis on ROI and local relevance. New Store Openings Create and execute go-to-market plans for new store launches across new and existing markets. Develop tailored playbooks for pre-launch, launch week, and post-launch momentum. Partnerships & Collaborations Identify and lead local and national brand collaborations to increase reach and relevance. Build relationships with mission-aligned brands, artists, and creators to co-create culturally resonant campaigns. Leadership & Collaboration Manage and mentor the marketing team, creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation. Work cross-functionally with Operations, Culinary, Tech, and Retail teams to ensure alignment. Manage agency and vendor relationships across PR, media, creative, and research. What We’re Looking For Experience 6-10+ years in brand, growth, or strategic marketing (F&B / QSR, multi-unit retail, or hospitality is a requirement). Deep understanding of full-funnel marketing—from digital campaigns to in-store activations. Skills & Strengths Proven track record of driving traffic, sales, and guest retention through holistic campaigns. Data-savvy with a strong grasp of marketing KPIs and CRM tools (e.g., Customer.io, Lunchbox, etc.). Expert in social and influencer strategy with a pulse on emerging trends and cultural moments. Highly collaborative with exceptional communication and leadership skills. Creative and strategic thinker who can roll up their sleeves when needed. Bonus Points Experience launching and managing loyalty programs. Understanding of restaurant tech stacks (Toast POS, delivery integrations, app marketing, loyalty program, etc). Why Join The Salty? You’ll lead the marketing engine of one of the fastest-growing, most loved donut and café brands in the country. You’ll help define how a category-defying brand shows up in culture, not just in ads. You’ll be part of a team that values creativity, craft, and genuine hospitality—in everything we do.
