Summary The Marketing Manager is responsible for directing, supervising, training, scheduling and motivating Marketing Associates. . The main objective is to increase the ship’s production of tours by booking guests during onboarding and at Sea days and convert those tours to package sales. Essential Job Functions Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Recruit, hire and train marketing professionals and supervisors. Oversee daily operations of marketing programs to meet budgeted tour flow. Establish an ongoing training plan to implement integrity and enthusiasm in the marketing department and ensure associates are abiding by all guidelines for behavior. Work with Senior Leadership to establish written and individual team goals to help achieve and maintain the highest levels of performance. Monitor and report performance of marketing at the site level, taking corrective action as required Working as a liaison with onboard leadership to solidify a strong working relationship Assisting Senior Leadership as needed. Travel Requirements Continuous – Cruise Ship Must Maintain an active US Passport Pre-Boarding Medical may be required (CG-719k) Minimum Requirements and Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred Training requirements Non required but FLA RE License Preferred Knowledge and skills Internal Vacation Ownership experience or external timeshare experience in a similar role preferred. Excellent skills regarding creating partnerships, “big picture” analysis, and excellent follow up mandatory. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to service both internal and external customers Clear concise written and verbal communication skills mandatory Track record of excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate a team Ability to effectively coach, counsel and motivate direct reports Ability to efficiently multi-task and negotiate effectively Detail oriented and accurate and demonstrated problem solving ability Ability to carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Technical Skills Proficient in MS Excel and Outlook required; Job experience Two plus years marketing experience required Marketing expertise specific to timeshare or Hospitality industry preferred. Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement. Must possess a valid US Passport and maintain up to date for duration of employment in this capacity Complexity Describe the following: Level of decision making authority Complex ~ Decisions impacting other Departments, and decisions impacting associate commissions. Level of autonomy Decisions are made within established guidelines The impact of his/her decision on the organization Decisions may impact tour production and associate expectations Supervisory responsibility: Manager will supervise Marketing Coordinators I and II. Scope/Financial Responsibility Marketing Manager will assist Senior Leadership in evaluating tour flow trends and make budgetary recommendations. Organizational Relationships Must work cohesively with MVAS leadership and crewmates for continuity of business. Work Environment Position will be expected to work on the cruise ship and port to manage the marketing team.
