The Consumer Marketing Manager role is central to building and leading the strategic plans to drive subscriber acquisition, increase engagement, and mitigate churn for The Daytona Beach News-Journal in Daytona Beach, FL, and The Greenville News in Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of the market, collaborate with the news team on content marketing plans, work with various teams to execute the pla,n and communicate results to the news teams and the corporate teams. This position will also be a key member of the local leadership team, partnering, collaborating, and supporting cross-division initiatives to drive growth. Additionally, the Manager will leverage data-driven insights to refine strategies, ensure alignment with organizational goals, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. They will also play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities for subscriber growth and retention while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Base Salary:
$80,000 – $85,000/annually Must be able to work in the Daytona Beach News-Journal office in Daytona Beach, FL 50% of the time or as directed by the key manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive volume and revenue by overseeing consumer sales and engagement results at The Daytona Beach News-Journal and The Greenville News.
Develop and implement strategic plans for sales and engagement, including an audience roadmap to drive revenue.
Collaborate with news teams to optimize and capitalize on trending stories.
Launch marketing programs to support newsroom initiatives that drive subscription growth, including newsletters, SMS campaigns, social media platforms, and native apps.
Attend key meetings onsite to ensure alignment and progress.
Plan, manage, and monitor social media ads to drive subscription sales or improve engagement of existing subscribers within brand guidelines.
Oversee SEO efforts to increase subscription sales.
Ensure website and ads are functioning optimally for both print and digital subscriptions.
Create and launch in-app campaigns to drive subscriptions or improve engagement.
Communicate results and insights with key stakeholders.
Adapt to changing trends and market conditions.
Analyze the competitive landscape and factors impacting growth.
Adhere to pricing strategies as defined by Local Revenue and Planning.
Connect with social and search teams to stay updated on trends and best practices.
Lead and participate in local events to drive subscriptions, generate top-of-funnel leads, and enhance brand awareness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in brand management, local marketing strategy, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of local marketing, community engagement, and digital marketing.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Experience with market research and data analytics.
Knowledge of branding principles and best practices. #LI-NR2 The annualized base salary for this role will range between $80,000 and $85,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience.
