Role:
This is not your typical graphic design position – we are looking for a Marketing Designer who understands the intersection of marketing and design, bringing both a creative eye and strategic mindset to every project.
What You Will Do:
As a Marketing Designer at AJA, you will play a key role in shaping our visual identity, enhancing our brand’s impact, and bringing fresh, engaging ideas to life across a variety of mediums. You will have the unique opportunity to take projects from concept to completion – from initial brainstorming and visualization to content creation, design, and final execution.
Brand Development:
Assist in refining and evolving AJA’s visual identity to align with our mission, values, and strategic goals.
Creative Campaigns:
Take marketing campaigns from concept to completion, including brainstorming, visual design, and crafting compelling messaging for print, digital, and social media.
Content Creation:
Develop visually engaging content that tells our story to diverse audiences, from prospective families and donors to students and alumni.
Editorial Design:
Own the design process for brochures, newsletters, reports, and other branded materials, ensuring consistency in both visual style and messaging.
Event Design:
Conceptualize and execute creative visuals for school events, aligning designs with event themes and objectives from start to finish.
Website & Digital Design:
Support website design updates and create digital assets, maintaining a cohesive and polished look across all online platforms.
Design Research:
Stay ahead of trends in design and branding, researching Gen Z preferences and creative strategies to elevate AJA’s marketing efforts while ensuring all generational cohorts are represented.
Collaboration:
Partner with Athletics, Admissions, Development, and faculty to develop creative assets that resonate with diverse audiences – from infants to high school seniors.
Creative Ideation:
Lead projects from A to Z – from the initial spark of an idea to the final product, bringing fresh, innovative concepts to life through impactful design.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communications, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in marketing design, branding, or content creation, preferably within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to take projects from concept to completion – from initial ideation and visual design to content creation and final execution. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design tools. Experience with website design and digital asset creation, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace). Strong understanding of design research and trend analysis, particularly targeting Gen Z and young families. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, visually engaging work. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. A portfolio that demonstrates creativity, versatility, and a strategic approach to impactful design. Why AJA?
