DESCRIPTION I. JOB TITLE

Digital Media Manager

REPORTS TO

Pastor

EMPLOYMENT GRADE

Part-time, Non-Exempt

II. GENERAL SUMMARY

This position works directly with the pastor and other staff members and is responsible for marketing, creating and posting content to the St. Aloysius Church website and social media platforms, evaluating performance metrics and analytics for online platforms, recommending courses of action, and ensuring the St. Aloysius brand. This position uses effective communication strategies to increase website content and social media engagement. This position collaborates with the pastor in his work of evangelizing, catechizing, leading worship and giving pastoral care to the people of St. Aloysius parish and the larger community.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A.

Education, Experience & Certifications:

Undergraduate degree in marketing, mass communication or a related field with a minimum of two years digital management experience. Expertise in communication, marketing, branding, social media platforms and web management. Due to the nature of this position, it is required that the incumbent be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing who is registered and active in a parish and possesses a working knowledge of Catholic teachings and doctrine. B.

Other Qualifications:

Ability to demonstrate experience in designing and implementing organization’s digital media plans and strategies and achieving digital marketing goals and objectives. Ability to demonstrate the development, design and publication of targeted communication, marketing and branding. Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential; technological, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required; ability to multi-task; superior verbal, written, and presentation skills; and attention to detail a must, and record keeping/administration required. Ability to build professional rapport with the individuals and skills to develop working relationships with associated organization’s representatives. Ability to exercise good judgment in handling difficult and/or sensitive situations, with the ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality and discretion as required by diocesan policy and legal requirements. C.

Physical Demands:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Applicant must be able to lift 20 lbs. occasionally; must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel occasionally. Ability to function calmly in pressured situations. Good visual acuity is needed for frequent data review. Requires considerable time spent working on a computer and interacting with people. D.

Working Environment:

Office/indoors and occasionally outdoors (event related). Must be available to disseminate content across electronic media evenings and weekends when situations demand.

Initiate, develop and implement social media platforms, marketing, unify branding and communication initiatives. Responsible for content creation in collaboration with staff members and ministry leaders. Develop and plan digital campaigns. Manage and maintain all social media platforms. Manage and create all digital content such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, infographics, videos etc. Cultivate a social media following and promote our faith and the St. Aloysius “brand” by using posts, comments, and replies to engage an audience with a relatable and contemporary parish voice. Monitor online posts that mention St. Aloysius and assist in mediating the impact of negative reviews and positive testimonials. Evaluate performance metrics and analytics for all online platforms, recommend courses of action. Manage and maintain web presence and content. Work to improve brand presence. Suggest strategies and methods for improvement. Stay up-to-date with digital media technologies and latest trends.
