This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic marketing initiatives to enhance visibility, reputation and enrollment. This role oversees traditional and digital marketing and content creation to attract prospective students and promote the school’s academic programs, research, and community impact. The director conducts market research and monitors and analyzes key performance metrics. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication, planning and organization skills. Strong understanding of marketing principles and brand management. Familiarity with student enrollment trends, enrollment funnel strategies, and best practices in marketing graduate programs. Experience in managing both brand awareness and lead generation advertising campaigns on Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and other social and web platforms. Knowledge of SEO, SEM, paid media, content marketing, email automation, and data-driven decision-making using tools like Google Analytics, CRM systems, keyword tracking and planning tools, and competitor analysis tools. Strong analytical skills to assess campaign effectiveness, track KPIs, and make data-informed adjustments. Experience in developing realistic, cost-effective budgets to achieve goals developed in conjunction with enrollment marketing. Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate marketing plans aligned with institutional goals and enrollment targets. Capability to lead a team, manage vendors, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Cultural competency and ability to collaborate in a diverse team atmosphere. Ability to learn and adopt new systems.
SPECIAL REQUIRED ABILITY FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES
Ability to complete and pass successfully the required occupational health screening referenced in the University’s Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended. Required Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Communications, English, Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Public Relations, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility in strategic planning, campaign management, or digital marketing leadership. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in higher education digital and traditional marketing. Preferred Qualifications Experience creating web content using a CMS (Drupal experience preferred) Experience with web/social monitoring tools Understanding of public health topics, trends, and workforce demands Experience with project management tools Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
