Job Description We are seeking adynamic, visionary leader to join the newly formed CommercialAnalytics & Insights (CA&I) organization as Head of GIBUA&I. Leverages deep knowledge in competitive intelligence,primary and secondary data and analytics (expertise in availabledatasets like patient-level claims, sales, and EMR data along withcustomer insight research methodologies) to lead thecross-functional Gastroenterology Business Unit (GIBU) Analytics &Insights team comprising of primary market research (customerinsights), competitive intelligence and strategic analytics. Therole fosters insight identification and development of supportiveanalytics to inform strategic choices and investments for a broadportfolio of in-line and pipeline GI products. Coaches team tobuild insightful, creative, and continuously improving strategicdeliverables to the brand, sales and market access teams, alongwith other key stakeholders across the GIBU. Oversees and providesanalysis regarding impacts of insights (primary and secondaryresearch, competitive intelligence, brand and sales analytics, andpartnership with forecasting and advanced analytics and data COEs)to inform forecasting assessment, prioritization of investment, andsupport informed decision making across the GI portfolio.
Proactively identifies business questions (e.g., market trends,product performance, marketing campaign development (provider andconsumer) and performance, market access analytics, sales forceorganization design, dynamic targeting, next best action) anddetermines the optimal approach to answer them through data,analytics, market research, etc. Brings a consultative approach topartnering with stakeholders to validate the business opportunity,develop a strategy based on analytic insights, monitor, andoptimize sales and marketing tactics. Is an advisor across thecommercial organization for designing effective reporting KPIs todeliver clear, accurate actionable insights with a relentless focuson accuracy. Fosters strategic customer insights and analytics todrive business decisions How you will contribute: Sets strategicdirection, driving analytics and leading insights generation andvalue proposition development for the GI Business Insights team.
Leads, manages and continues to evolve the development of aholistic cross-functional point of view to address ad hoccross-brand and/or cross-functional business questions that requirethe integration of input from marketing, sales, market access, andpatient services analytics, decision science, and primary marketresearch. Creates value by adding own and synthesizing groups’insights into actionable outputs with insights from the results,elevating the “why” of the visual information. Partners withfranchise leads to identify strategic priorities for the in-lineand launch portfolio and craft analytics and insights plans to bestmeet the needs of the business. Communicates clear findings andrecommends appropriate action to executive-level Franchiseleadership. Identify, assess, and advance insights into the keyinternal and external factors that affect products in the BUlandscape, including but not limited to: patient journey,assessment of a wide range of data sets to inform trends andopportunities, assessments to evaluate tactical plans andpriorities, etc. Leads annual Brand Planning Situation Analysisworkshops along with providing strategic input into annualfranchise brand planning processes for in-line and pipelineproducts. Provides strategic input into the annual Global BrandPlanning process which is disseminated to the LOCs for tacticalexecution. Partner with forecasting COE to provide direction fordemand forecast, risks and ops. Partner closely with CommercialOperations, HEOR, sales force effectiveness, patient services, andmanaged markets teams to provide expertise and insights Overseecompetitive intelligence activities, serving as lead partner toalign findings and implications cross-functionally and globally toinform mid and long-range forecasting efforts and creation ofshared data and analytics to better mine data and understand thedrivers of customer behaviors. Provide strategic insights andanalysis to ensure clear brand strategies that address unmet needalong the patient journey that will provide strategic direction,identify key insights and analytics relevant to promotionalexcellence, allow tracking based upon driven insights, anddirection for the forecasting group to develop robust forecasts forproduct and trade-offs with other products in the franchise. Ensurebest practices in marketed products and launch excellence insightsand analytics by serving as a thought leader, providing strategicconsulting and market perspective to key business stakeholders onstrategies and risks, including significant trends, competitivepositioning and consumer decision making drivers based on thoroughtrends, segment and marketing analysis.
MinimumRequirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics,engineering, business, marketing analytics or a related fieldrequired with a master’s degree in business, science, engineeringor advanced analytics preferred 10 years’ experience in Insights &Analytics role or related positions with in-depth experience ofinnovating and implementing successful market research andanalytics capabilities required. 5 years of progressive people andproject management; experience as a leader of leaders, a plusAbility to provide full oversight to the full spectrum ofpharmaceutical analytical functions and the ability to conductbusiness analytics and market research across multiple therapeuticareas Deep expertise in pharmaceutical data sources and theirapplication to support business decisions. Experience utilizinglimited/ sub-optimal data to gain insights in specialtypharmaceutical products or orphan/ rare diseases. Ability tocombine primary data sources and secondary market research insightsto support sales and marketing strategies and forecastingComprehension of early commercial strategy and U.S. launchexpertise, sales force execution and insight gatheringmethodologies needed to evolve pre-launch strategy. Base Salary Range:
$208,200.00 – $327,140.00 The estimated salary range reflects ananticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offeredmay depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications ofthe individual applicant for the position, years of relevantexperience, specific and unique skills, level of educationattained, certifications or other professional licenses held, andthe location in which the applicant lives and/or from which theywill be performing the job.
The actual base salary offered will bein accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for thejob location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-termand/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible toparticipate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan andcompany match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basiclife insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteertime off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
