Job Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing, branding, and events strategy for JAR Cannabis Co. ensuring consistency, customer engagement, and business growth in the competitive cannabis industry. This role combines a data-driven approach to digital marketing with a simultaneous emphasis on events and live-marketing initiatives. The Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with ownership, the GM of retail, and our Arts & Photography Mgr. (who produces all our photo and video content for multi-channel use) This position may require travel to various company locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Leadership Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention. Monitor industry trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges. Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for maximum ROI. Present quarterly marketing performance reports and insights into the leadership team Brand Development & Management Create and maintain a strong, recognizable, and consistent brand presence in the cannabis market. Develop unique, engaging content that resonates with target audiences while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Align the JAR brand with live events, guerilla marketing, and pop-ups that increase JARs brand awareness and customer loyalty. Manage a merchandise/apparel program (retail & e-comm) Regulatory Compliance Ensure all marketing activities comply with state and local cannabis advertising regulations. Develop crisis communication strategies to manage potential brand risks. Public Relations & Advertising Serve as a company spokesperson and manage public relations efforts, including press releases, media outreach, and community engagement., as needed by ownership Drive community engagement through proactive communication Manage the responses of all reviews from google, weedmaps, etc. Manage the quarterly giving program Develop and manage a sponsorship and live events program both regionally and brand wide. Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Create, execute, and manage the following programs/processes SEO Email Newsletter Social Media Website 3rd party App/Text notification E-Comm (online ordering of cannabis product and non-cannabis products) Media plan (digital, print, radio, etc) Leverage analytics tools to track performance and make data-driven decisions to improve digital marketing strategies. Retail Marketing & Support Partner with retail teams to develop in-store marketing programs, promotional campaigns, and customer engagement strategies. Ensure retail locations have the tools and materials needed for effective local marketing. Focus on brand consistency throughout all stores including in-store design, display, and customer flow Team Development Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing apparatus with the help and cooperation of other departments Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, events or a related field 7+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with a strong preference for experience in the cannabis, CPG, or retail industry. Proven success in building and scaling marketing strategies for multi-location businesses. Expertise in digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce. Strong understanding of branding, customer segmentation, and consumer behavior. Experience planning and executing live events and event support Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations related to advertising and marketing. Personal Attributes Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for the cannabis industry. Self-starter willing to take on the task of building a department Strong leadership and team-building skills. Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
