Position summary The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Ostara’s overall marketing strategy. The role will lead and oversee all aspects of marketing communications, branding, and promotional activities to achieve business objectives. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership skills, excellent verbal and written skills and a strong understanding of marketing principles and practices. This is a “working” Director role with a requirement to use resources effectively and an ability and willingness to shift between strategic and tactical execution easily.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:

Developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans aligned with overall business goals.

Budget Management:

Overseeing the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring optimal return on investment.

Campaign Management:

Leading the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, content, and events.

Brand Management:

Ensuring brand consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels.

Market Research:

Conducting market research continuously to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.

Performance Analysis:

Analyzing marketing campaign performance, identifying areas for improvement, and optimizing strategies based on data-driven insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Collaborating with sales, product, agronomy, and other departments to ensure alignment and drive business results.

Reporting and Communication:

Preparing reports for senior management, effectively communicating marketing strategies and results.

Staying Updated:

Keeping abreast of the latest marketing trends and technologies to ensure the company’s marketing efforts remain relevant and effective and changing directions as data drives or needs to recalibrate.

Education and Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. At least seven (7) years of relevant work experience in marketing and product demand creation, Working knowledge of agriculture and crop inputs is preferred. Agriculture related marketing highly desired. Location and travel This position is located in St. Louis, Missouri. Up to 30% travel requirement is expected going to tradeshows, meetings and similar events. When not traveling for work, a 3-day in office expectation is required and has the flexibility to work 2 days from a home office as long as the ability to complete tasks is not impaired.
