DEFINITION
The Director of Marketing at Cape Fear Community College is responsible for leading the conception and implementation of the college’s marketing strategy. This role involves overseeing various aspects of marketing, including the college website and strategic enrollment and retention marketing plans in collaboration with the community relations, admissions, and recruiting teams and managing , graphic design, and content staff. The Director of Marketing plays a crucial role in promoting the college’s brand, attracting and retaining students, and enhancing its reputation in the community.

Essential Functions:
Conceptualize, develop, schedule, and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for CFCC, aligned with the College’s overall goals and objectives. Lead and manage the college website, ensuring it reflects the College’s brand, is user-friendly, ADA accessible, and provides accurate and up-to-date information. Lead and oversee marketing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met. Develop and supervise a comprehensive digital marketing strategy encompassing SEO, content marketing, PPC, and email campaigns. Develop a content calendar aligned with the College’s overall marketing strategy, encompassing various content formats and distribution channels. Monitor campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies based on engagement and audience feedback. Work with outside agencies to schedule and adjust ad buys and marketing strategies. Use data-driven insights to refine targeting, messaging, and campaigns. Collaborate with the Student Services team to create strategic marketing plans supporting recruitment efforts to enhance enrollment and increase student retention. Work with colleagues across the College to optimize the impact of the CRM system to drive engagement, track campaign performance, ensure data accuracy, and support targeted marketing and retention initiatives. Supervise and mentor graphic design and content team, providing guidance, timeline expectations, project management, constructive feedback, and opportunities for professional development. Oversee the creation and implementation of impactful marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, print, and broadcast media. Monitor market trends, conduct market research, and analyze data to identify opportunities for improving marketing effectiveness and ROI. Ensure brand consistency and adherence to the college’s brand guidelines in all marketing materials and communications. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support their marketing needs and promote their programs and initiatives. Implement personalization strategies to tailor interactions based on prospective students’ preferences and behaviors. Establish and maintain relationships with external partners to leverage promotional opportunities and enhance the college’s visibility. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging marketing strategies, and technologies, and propose innovative approaches to enhance the college’s marketing efforts. Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing initiatives to measure success and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated responsibly, effectively, and efficiently. Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information, including student and employee data and proprietary information. Encourage professional development to keep the team abreast of best practices. Facilitate regular meetings and collaborations between marketing and other departments to align strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with HR team to advertise hiring needs. QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Proven experience in marketing strategy development and implementation, preferably in the education sector or a similar complex organization. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve shared goals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling marketing messages and materials. Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, social media management tools, website content management systems, CRMs (preferably Element 451 or similar) AI tools, and analytics. Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating multiple marketing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results. Knowledge of graphic design principles and experience collaborating with designers to create visually appealing marketing materials. Familiarity with market research methodologies and data analysis techniques. Ability to build and maintain positive collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion andprofessionalism.
