Job Description
Our client is the Corporate Reputation team of a global tech leader seeking a Media Relations Manager with experience in Crisis Communications or Brand Reputation. This is a 12-month, 40 hours/week assignment with likely extension that will be onsite 4 days/week (nonnegotiable) in the Northern NJ office.

The Media Relations Manager will
- Support the development and implementation of a media relations strategy
- Engage and maintain relationships with media contacts alongside the Director of Corporate Reputation
- Develop proactive media outreach strategies and pitch materials to bolster company’s positive reputation
- Leverage a suite of media monitoring tools to sense and understand the media landscape as it relates to brand reputation, turning observations into actionable insights
- Grow the Corporate Reputation team’s reporting function within the organization and identify new channels to provide organizational impact
- Step in when needed on team projects from risk assessments to media monitoringThe Media Relations Manager must have
- 5+ years of public relations experience with existing media contact relationships
- Experience in crisis response/communications or brand reputation communications
- Experience with mainstream media relations and managing brand campaigns
- Ability to identify, develop and tell compelling stories and suggest ideas
- Ability to track KPIs and translate results into actionable key learnings
- Ability to build and maintain new media contact relationships
- Bachelor’s degreeBonus
- Strong familiarity with crisis communication best practices
- Knowledge managing an external agency
- Journalism or newsroom experienceIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
