About the Role Opentrons is transforming life sciences and lab automation with accessible, open-source robotics that empower scientists to accelerate discovery. As we scale, we need a world-class digital leader to drive global growth, lead generation, and marketing technology strategy. The Director of Digital Growth & Technology will be responsible for scaling global demand generation through cutting-edge digital acquisition strategies, MarTech, and data-driven decision-making. This leader will own all digital growth channels, lead generation, and the global web strategy, ensuring Opentrons achieves aggressive pipeline and revenue targets. This is a high-impact, strategic, and hands-on role, ideal for a growth-driven life sciences digital expert who thrives at the intersection of marketing, data, and technology. Ideally, this person will be working in-person on a hybrid basis, but there is some flexibility. The Director of Digital Growth & Technology will report directly to our VP of Marketing.

What You Will Do Global Lead Generation & Demand Growth:

Own global demand generation strategy , driving lead acquisition across digital channels (SEO, SEM, paid media, email, ABM, website, and organic content). Build and execute a multi-channel digital marketing strategy that delivers high-quality leads to sales teams. Develop account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns targeting key life sciences segments. Optimize conversion rates, lead scoring models, and automation workflows to drive revenue. Manage budget allocation and ROI measurement across all digital growth initiatives.

Website & Digital Infrastructure:

Own the Opentrons website —ensuring it is a global lead-generation machine with optimized CRO, UX, and SEO . Oversee website enhancements, A/B testing, personalization, and localization for global markets. Drive technical SEO and digital analytics improvements to improve organic rankings.

Marketing Technology & Analytics:

Own the MarTech stack (CRM, automation, analytics, CDP, attribution modeling, and ABM tools). Implement advanced analytics, tracking, and attribution models to measure digital performance. Build real-time dashboards, reports, and insights for digital KPIs and marketing ROI. Drive AI-driven automation and personalization strategies to scale engagement.

Global Expansion & Localization:

Develop regional growth strategies for key international markets. Work with regional sales teams to tailor demand gen efforts for different geographies. Implement multi-language, multi-region website optimizations for global audiences.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Lead and build a high-performance digital growth team (internal and external resources). Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Regional Teams to align digital growth strategies with business objectives. Serve as the go-to expert in digital transformation, growth marketing, and automation within life sciences.

Who We Are Looking For Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, ideally with a focus in life science or similar field of study MBA preferred but not required

Experience:

10+ years of experience in digital growth, demand generation, and marketing technology in life sciences, biotech, or medtech industries 3+ years experience in hiring, leading, and managing teams

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Deep expertise in lead generation, demand gen, ABM, and global digital strategy. Proven track record of scaling digital marketing in international markets. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Specifically, an innate ability to build, present, and pitch creative marketing strategies to both internal and external stakeholders. Hands-on experience with SEO, paid search, paid social, CRO, web analytics, and MarTech stacks. Strong technical acumen—comfortable collaborating with developers, data teams, and engineers. Data-driven growth mindset, experienced in multi-touch attribution and marketing analytics. Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $190,000 and $225,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. We typically target mid-range for well-qualified candidates. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity and full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.
