Reporting to the Head of US Commercial Financesupporting the Commercial Business and Medical Affairs functionswithin the US Business Unit, the Brand Finance Manager will beresponsible for providing financial support to the USOncology/Dermatology Business Units mainly through expensemanagement including monthly closing, annual budgeting andquarterly forecasting related activities. Essential Functions ofthe Job (Key responsibilities)
- Work closely with AccountingServices group to ensure all Commercial/Medical Affairs accrualsare reviewed for accuracy and completeness from Gappify accrualsystem.
- Improve accrual Gappify response rate from internalbudget owners.
- Perform month-end close activities for certaincommercial activities not handled by Accounting Services group.
- Review invoicing and related transactions generated by A/P toensure proper accounting.
- Provide guidance to administrativeassistants and project managers on proper treatment ofrequisitions. (coding block, processing, approval, etc.).
- Createand review departmental reports to compare actual expenses vs.budget creating ad hoc reports in Hyperion and/or PeopleSoft toprovide transparency and accountability of budgeted spend.
- Reviewexpenditures in PeopleSoft to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Re-class entries and change PO to reflect proper coding whennecessary.
- Note any large expenditures/outliers and preparereview with Head of US Commercial Finance, AVP FP&A and VPFinance and Chief Accounting Officer.
- Perform run rate analysisvs.
Budget / Forecast
for all expenditures.
- Maintain the USBusiness Open PO Report file to track spending for all of USBusiness to manage commitments and coordination with Procurement toanalyze category spend.
- Review project spend with Commercial andMedical Affairs team members including department heads.
- DevelopOp-Ex dashboard reporting using Business Objects and roll out tostakeholders.
- Assist Head of US Commercial Finance and SeniorDirector, Finance of Dermatology Business Unit with Annual Budgetpresentation including development of slides to support the USOncology/Dermatology Business Unit Budget presentations.
- Liaisonwith external auditors in supporting and understanding accruals, asrequired.
- Continuous Process Improvement – Assist in financialprocess improvement initiatives and develop metrics for measuringeffectiveness and efficiency while meeting business needs.
- Understand the business drivers and make recommendations to teamsaround resource allocations.
- Ad hoc projects including sales,royalty reporting and support to the Corporate Strategic Plan.
- Individual will serve as critical customer facing/businesspartnering role. Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level ofeducation, work experience, and competency)
- BS degree infinance-related field or equivalent.
- 5 years of progressive,relevant work experience in financial planning, analysis, modelingand accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills tosupport budget owners and department heads.
- Strong organizationalskills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- SAP (orcomparable ERP system) and Hyperion experience recommended.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and complexenvironment.
