JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Secondary Market Specialist 2 is primarily responsible for administrating the secondary market operation, including both the buying and selling of mortgages in connection with bank goals. The Secondary Market Specialist 2 will act as a resource for problem resolution and will assist other team members in balancing their work loan and ensuring accuracy. The Secondary Marketing Specialist 2 will assist in loan officer and secondary market team training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily monitoring of secondary market workflow to ensure accurate pricing and efficient processes. Administer all secondary market duties that aid in selling and purchasing loans. Log information related to loan sales and purchases. Comply with secondary market laws.
Keep abreast of changes in investor requirements and with investor technology updates, and act as liaison as issues arise with business partners.
Balance reports for Rate Deviations, confirm wire reconciliations and assist with complex responsibilities and projects as they may arise.
Maintain users in pricing engine as necessary.
Develops and/or recommends methods and other techniques which will improve sales effectiveness
Maintain knowledge of the concepts, practices, and procedures to deliver mortgage loans to various investors. Monitor required changes to Mortgage News by verifying various policies and charges.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Baccalaureate degree in business, finance, or a related field; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
5+ years experience in Secondary Markets or a related field of lending or financing.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly, and demonstrate sound judgment.
Detail oriented with strong organizational analytical and oral/written communication skills.
Ability to effectively navigate in various situations and highly complex environments and develop creative solutions.
Must exercise discretion and sound judgment and be able to work well independently.
Ability to work efficiently with a high level of attention to finer details.
Follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities is a must.
Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines required.
Proficient in MS Office w/an emphasis on Excel.

Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
