WHAT WE’RE OFFERING
The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in executing targeted marketing initiatives that support United Communications’ residential sales efforts. This position focuses on email and direct mail marketing, brand consistency, and supporting residential lead generation, sales enablement, and promotional campaigns. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about delivering measurable marketing results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required. Execute and manage email and direct mail marketing campaigns targeting residential prospects and customers, including customer journey touchpoints. Write and deploy email marketing campaigns; track and report on key performance metrics and initiate optimization plans as needed. Maintain and manage United Communications’ brand guidelines, templates, and fonts; educate new employees and internal stakeholders to ensure brand consistency. Update and manage the marketing and sales tracker with residential direct mail and email targeting efforts. Support sales enablement initiatives by creating marketing materials, promotional content, and resources for the Residential Sales teams. Lead efforts to promote residential products and services through targeted campaigns and incentives. Partner with Sales to identify residential customers for testimonials or case studies. Coordinate residential promotional campaigns to increase brand awareness and conversions. Generate actionable address lists for monthly residential sales outreach by analyzing Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) and Duck River Electric (DRE) databases and removing current customer records. Define and maintain residential target markets, buyer personas, value propositions, and product messaging strategies. Assist in creating visual assets and graphics for campaigns, collateral, and events. Provide support for local events as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field preferred, but will accept candidates with a High School diploma who have at least one Marketing-related certification 3+ years of experience in a full-time B2C or B2B marketing role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Project management skills with the ability to prioritize, execute, and analyze results. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
PREFERENCES
Experience in telecommunications or the ISP industry. Canva expertise Relevant marketing certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe). Skills in graphic design, video production, or WordPress. Knowledge of web and HTML development tools is a plus.
SUCCESS METRICS
(First 3-9 Months) Produce a consistent volume of qualified residential leads for the residential Sales teams through lead generation via email and direct mail with a minimum open rate of 45% and click-through rate of 3-5% on emails. Conduct at least one brand training session per quarter with new employees or key internal stakeholders. Launch at least 2 residential promotions in collaboration with Sales to support active fiber zones. Deliver a refreshed sales enablement toolkit (flyers, email templates, neighborhood-specific materials) within 90 days.
SCHEDULE
This is an office-based position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with the ability to support local marketing events on evenings or weekends about three times per quarter. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business. A small percentage of out-of-town, overnight travel may be required once or twice a year.
