Position Overview:

The Sensory and Consumer Evaluator, plays a critical role in assessing product performance, sensory attributes, and consumer experience to support innovation and product development. This role involves leading the design and execution of consumer testing, analyzing sensory data, competitive benchmarking, leading our insider community and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure products meet both internal standards and consumer expectations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Consumer Testing & Product Performance Lead the design and execution of consumer testing protocols to evaluate texture, application usability, efficacy, packaging, fragrance, and overall satisfaction. Support the development of sensory and performance benchmarks to drive product innovation. Help establish and maintain internal and external evaluation panels, including recruitment and panelist training. Leads independent consumer testing plan for projects refining sensory evaluation protocols and methodologies. Strategic Partnership and Stakeholder Management Support marketing and sales teams by providing data-driven insights on product benefits and positioning. Partner with marketing to translate consumer insights into compelling product messaging, and substantiated marketing materials. Assist in optimizing processes to streamline product development timelines without compromising quality. Competitive Benchmarking and Insights Responsible for monitoring and analyzing competitive product launches, trends, and formulations to provide actionable insights that could lead to new concepts or improvements to existing products. Methodologies & Data Analysis Analyze consumer feedback and sensory data to provide actionable insights for R D, marketing, and product development teams. Support post-launch product monitoring to track success and recommend improvements. Maintain detailed records of product development activities, including test results, formulation data, and project timelines. Samples Management Manages the procurement, organization, and distribution of product samples for internal evaluations, ensuring timely availability for testing and benchmarking

Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive consumer-centric innovation. Communicating effectively with key cross functional stakeholders to build internal and external facing relationships. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sensory Science, Chemistry, Psychology, Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience in sensory evaluation, product development, or consumer research within the CPG, cosmetics, or personal care industry.
