Job Description

Overview The Global Sourcing & Product Development Associate (Apparel & Accessories) will drive the product development and commercialization process for the North America Foot Locker Inc. Private Label Division, in partnership with Sr. Manager. This role is responsible for turning creative vision into product; working in collaboration with the internal/external cross functional partners (Buying, Design, Technical Design, HKPD, Production, RM, Operations, Vendors & Factories) to deliver products that meet business requirements for quality, aesthetic, and price. In this position, you will be brand facing, assisting in the implementation and optimization of global sourcing strategy, proper sample execution & costing throughout the development process, as well as mitigate challenges in-season and in bulk. Must be a strategic problem solver who can handle day-to-day responsibilities including ad-hoc projects, requiring quick turnaround. Responsibilities Own and lead the product journey from concept to development, to production handoff. Team up with FTL HK office and vendors directly on daily tasks and needs. Understanding of product cost breakdown and maintaining seasonal cost sheets – able to identify price challenges and engage cross functional partners for solutions to meet company financial target. Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure a clear understanding of their capabilities, and in partnership with Sr. Manager, allocate seasonal products to meet company goals and sourcing strategy. Responsible for tracking all communication on samples, trims and color development from suppliers. Facilitate & participate in seasonal product line reviews to evaluate sample execution and quality standard. Collaborate with the buying team and comprehend broader banner strategy on actioned deliverables. Basic knowledge of raw materials and understanding garment construction. Drive cross-functional calendar adherence and alert cross-functional partners to calendar implications/business impact, should deliverables be missed. Attend fittings and provide product development perspectives where necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred 3-5 years related experience in Product Development, Production, or a similar role Strong understanding of Product Life Cycle processes and cost negotiation Creative problem solvers with the ability to function effectively and efficiently with a sense of urgency Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word) Experience with product development systems (PLM, PDM, etc.) preferred Strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels of management and a diverse team Basic knowledge of apparel construction, fit, and raw materials Excellent verbal and written skills Benefits The annual base salary range is $65000-$75000. This range represents the anticipated low and high ends of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
