The Product developers in all aspects of new and improved dietary supplement solid dose and powder formulations and product design requirements under the direction of a Product Development Manager, with the primary function to initiate all new product and product revision projects, and ensuring all products are designed, manufactured, and labeled in accordance with cGMP standards while meeting customer product requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Develop preliminary bench samples with specifications based on Customer request for Quotes and/or information provided from Sales and Customer Service team Ability to generate detailed preliminary product specifications and/or formulation/quote decks that reflect any differences or changes between customer requests and preliminary information Ability to generate and execute any product change orders and/or deviations that may be required to support manufacturing with the approvals of customers, if required Provide cost conscious and proactive recommendations, and test out recommendations, as needed to improve new or existing product formulas for improving manufacturing performance while meeting customer specifications Works closely with Quality to ensure product formulations match up with labeling requirements to ensure overall product compliance with specifications and cGMP requirements Works with a variety of solid dose forms including capsules, powders, flavors with minimal supervision May interact with customers in person and in writing Manages personal project schedule and prepares regular progress reports of assigned tasks Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications 4-year college/university degree in Chemistry, Food Science or other relevant subject 1-3 years’ related work experience or 3-4 years solid dose development experience preferred. Able to use scientific method. Able to function in a laboratory and production setting. Ability to comprehend laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications. Able to complete accurate and precise work in a timely manner. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work without direction in “Office” programs especially document creation, spreadsheets and email. Ability to use company ERP and other related software programs with efficiency Familiar with and have experience calculating Nutritional values of formulas Familiar with product labeling regulations and guidelines Occasionally, and all personnel protective equipment is required.
