Cambridge, MA About the Job The Global Head ofNew Product Planning (NPP) and TA Strategy, Immunology reporting tothe Global Franchise Head, Immunology will play a critical role inthe future growth of the franchise. The NPP Head will support theImmunology franchise heads in commercial, development, and researchin developing and implementing the therapy area strategy, lead anexperienced team of NPP professionals, and work across projectteams providing commercial leadership and strategic direction onproducts moving from pre-clinical stages through early developmentand towards commercialization. The NPP head is expected to workwith both internal and external stakeholders to drive evolution andadoption of therapy area and disease area strategies as well asrelated strategic initiatives. Annually, the NPP head will captainthe cross-functional effort to update our TA strategy. The NPP headwill also partner with Business Development and M&A teams toprovide guidance and assessments of external opportunities. Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the GlobalImmunology NPP team
- Support the Global Franchise Head ofImmunology, as well as the respective heads of Research andDevelopment, in developing and implementing the therapy areastrategy, as well as disease area strategies, ensuringprioritization of internal and external growth opportunities.
- Actively partner with global project teams to provide robustcommercial direction on pipeline planning and product developmentstrategy and ensure appropriate early commercial planning andexecution.
- Develop the commercial strategy for key assets,ensuring alignment with global business unit (GBU) goals andstrategy.
- Support the program teams directly and/or through theNPP team throughout the governance process providing GBU businessleadership within the franchise, R D and investment committees
- Direct integrated market analysis and competitive intelligenceinvestigations to identify current and future trends within keydisease settings and across the therapy area
- Understand andcommunicate requirements for regulatory approval (registration),access to market (pricing & reimbursement), and marketdifferentiation required for the successful commercialization ofnew products.
- Anticipate and ensure smooth transition of allcommercial deliverables and insights to the Global Brand Lead (GBLand brand team).
- Partner with business development and relatedM&A teams to ensure the BD roadmap remains in-line with GBUstrategy and explore and evaluate potential commercial synergieswith franchise portfolio.
- Work with R D, global commercialand regional colleagues to define and evolve disease areas /commercial areas of interest for the Immunology therapy area
- Build and develop a best-in-class team, and foster strongcoordination across functions, and across therapy areas
About YouExperience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree isrequired (MBA, MS or PhD in life science is preferred)
- A minimumof 10 years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience
- Experience in Immunology indications is highly preferred for thisposition
- Experience in new product planning, pre-launch / earlycommercialization, Business development, or in-line launch coveringcommercial activities is required
- Selected candidate prole willencompass strong leadership, strategic thinking, planning,analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability toengage credibly with internal and external stakeholders aroundscientific and drug development topics; familiar with the processof drug development from discovery research to commercialization isessential
- Driven and result-oriented; Ability to work on multipleprojects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work with asense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively ina matrixed environment with many cross-functional partnersincluding marketing brand teams, market research, market access,medical affairs, business development, regulatory, research &development, manufacturing, finance and legal
- Ability to work ina fast-paced environment and quickly adjust to changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills,including ability to synthesize and deliver a clear overview of thestrategy, opportunity and risks for Sanofi executives
- Validpassport and ability to travel internationally
