Summary of This Role:

Provides direction to product developmentand the overall process of the product and services function.

Builds products and services from existing ideas and helps todevelop new ideas based on industry experience and contact withcustomers and prospects. Increases profitability of existingproducts and services to developing new solutions which advancebusiness objectives and client needs. Builds strong workingrelationships with marketing, sales, support staff, productdevelopment and vendors plus senior management and keycustomers.

What Part Will You Play? Manages the process from product development to product launch,ensuring execution is in line with project plan, for small ormoderately complex new product initiatives or existing productinitiatives. In cases in which the product has a distinct PNL, theproduct manager has responsibility for managing a product’s PNL toensure profitability for product initiatives. For the InternationalBusiness Segment, typical annual revenues for a small or moderatelycomplex product initiative would be approximately $250k orless. For assigned products, owns, manages, and communicates aproduct roadmap, including collaborating with industry analysts toform competitive analysis, and with delivery, sales, andrelationship management teams to determine prioritization,development, and ongoing costs of delivery, and market positioning.

Manages the details of product backlog and ensures continualenhancements to existing products. For assigned products, develops the “go to market packaging”for existing products or smaller product initiatives and supportsthe “go to market” strategy on the new or more complex productinitiatives. Collaborates with product marketing to develop productmarketing strategies based on established product objectives,costs, and value proposition. Reviews research with productmarketing to quantify value proposition for inputs to pricinganalysis and marketing collateral. Defines pricing strategies fornew and existing products considering competitive pricing models,target customer segment base, internal costs, value propositionmetrics (e.g., savings to clients, process costs, etc.), and marketacceptance and adoption rates. Participates in defining alternativemodels complete with benefits, and present final pricingrecommendations to executive management for adoption. Develops business cases requiring minimal analytical skills fornew product functionality to serve as inputs to decision-making,prioritization, pricing, and client value proposition. For assigned product initiatives, collaborates with companybusiness leaders, industry analysts, sales, IT, legal, strategicmarketing and relationship management teams to define productgoals, objectives, market positioning, and pricing strategies.

Complies with established methodology for managing productstrategy. Follows a structured, repeatable process for collecting andanalyzing market research, to include industry publications,analyst research, experiential research, client surveys, etc.

Supports the strategic planning approach for summarizing andcommunicating the results of aggregate research. Participates in product concept and requirements workshops withclients and internal development teams in pursuit of productrequirements, objectives, and architecture decisions. Documentsworkshop results in a format suitable for consumption by allaudiences, including interactive review and feedback from clientsand internal parties. For assigned products, supports the collaboration with productdelivery and technology architecture to validate detailed design,particularly to ensure that product objectives and key requirementsare met and aligned with the market needs and the business unitstrategy. Completes required documentation and provides designdirection, testing support, and general assistance to deliveryteam, as needed, during the execution phase of product developmentconsisting of moderate complexities and scopes.

What Are We LookingFor in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Relevant Experience or Degree in: Business or Computer Science;Combination of relevant training and/ or experience in lieu ofdegree Typically Minimum 6 Years Relevant Exp Experience in similar business product services and/or externalcustomer/market experience Preferred Qualifications Prefer experience in a software development environment or in aprofessional services role. Prefer software or IT background (i.e.,degree or experience). Prefer direct experience with doing softwaredevelopment, testing and/or business analysis. Prefer experiencewith Agile software products and delivery methodology.
