Sporting News is searching for a Senior Product Manager to drivethe strategy and development of both the website and its keystrategic partnerships.

We are looking for a motivated and drivenSenior Product Manager who will be able to strategize and work withglobally distributed internal and external stakeholders to makeSporting News become the leading global digital sports destinationwith world-class product experiences for the modern sports fan.

Thishigh-profile role will have exposure to all aspects of thebusiness, from the tactical to the strategic. Your innatecreativity combined with your product management experience andresults orientation will enable the business to drive timelyproduct and market decisions that will be crucial to achieving ourgoals. Over time you will set the bar for how we imagine, build,and deliver great products and define our product team as wegrow.

This permanent position will work from Charlotte,NC and will report to the SVP, Media.

HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHATYOU’LL

(PRIMARILY) DO Help to shape, define and execute the product roadmap acrosseditorial, video, data, and audience engagement features. Decision making in a timely manner. Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, from discoveryand definition through to delivery and iteration. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify user needs andtranslate them into clear, actionable product requirements andspecifications. Partner with engineering to ensure timely delivery ofhigh-quality product releases. Utilize data, A/B testing, and user feedback to informprioritization, feature development, and performanceoptimization. Contribute to audience and monetization strategy by developingtools that support personalization, SEO, advertising, and affiliateintegrations. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emergingtechnologies to keep our platforms innovative and competitive. Mentoring and coaching product people and teams to deliver highquality products and features.

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

Proven experience as a Product Director (ideally 5+ years),with applicable digital product experience such as Sports, Media,Gaming or Entertainment. Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS),analytical tools (GA4, Looker) and performance marketing. Experience working with agile product development teams. Proven ability to balance business goals, user needs andtechnical feasibility. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortableworking with stakeholders across design, editorial, and commercialfunctions. Understanding of sports audiences is a significant plus.

NOTESSENTIAL BUT GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE

An understanding of UX in the context of web and appdevelopment An understanding of Ad technology e.g. GAM, Amazon TAM Experience working within data protection regulations (e.g.

GDPR) and related CMP tools. Experience of working with third-party sources to enhance theproduct experience. Experience with sports data and gaming products.
