We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead strategic initiatives in the life insurance and annuities domain. This newly created role will focus on product configuration, actuarial modeling, and driving innovation across platforms through strong collaboration with engineering and actuarial teams. Reporting into a product organization consisting of 5 Product Managers and 17 Product Owners, this role provides visibility across leadership and a clear path to future people leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of long-term product roadmaps aligned with business strategy and customer needs.
Define and drive strategy for actuarial modeling and product configuration systems within the life and annuity portfolio.
Operate in an Agile/Scrum environment, writing epics and user stories, and working closely with engineering to ensure seamless implementation.
Collaborate with actuarial and engineering teams to optimize calculation engines and enhance platform architecture.
Align KPIs and oues to business objectives, ensuring product decisions are data-informed.
Provide thought leadership on industry trends and best practices related to financial product systems and modeling tools.
Support major initiatives including annuity contract migration and term product launches.
Mentor product owners and junior team members to drive performance, alignment, and career growth.
Desired Qualifications:
Certified Product Manager or equivalent certification preferred.
Proven experience developing roadmaps, business cases, and product strategies.
Expertise in managing multiple priorities and resolving conflicting demands inplex environments.
Experience with product management best practices across the full lifecycle: discovery, design, build, release, and measure.
Demonstrated success leading or influencing product teams in matrixed organizations.
Familiarity with user interface design and usability best practices.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and tools for managing backlogs and roadmaps.
Budgeting and ROI management experience across multiple product areas.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
8-10 years of product management experience, preferably within life insurance or annuities.
Hands-on experience with actuarial modeling systems, calculation engines, and financial product architecture.
Understanding of APIs, data integration, and enterprise platforms.
Agile mindset and strong working knowledge of Scrum processes.
Clearmunicator with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
Leadership potential, with a desire to step into a formal people leader role within 12 months.
