Fully Onsite What you will do The Associate Scientist, Skin Health & Beauty will have responsibility for product development across various Skin Health categories including facial moisturizers and treatments, makeup, SPF, and acne/cleansing as well as support for post launch projects. Strong communication skills together with the ability to manage complexity are must have prerequisites. The candidate will provide strategic and operational skills in the execution of regional and global projects, including analyzing the new consumer insight to build a strategic innovation pipeline. Key Responsibilities Lead innovative end to end skin health & beauty development projects Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance standards are met Stay current on industry trends and technologies to drive product innovation Present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders Lead the identification and assessment of external innovation partners to develop innovative products. Drive continuous improvement in the development of new materials, processes, and products to ensure quality and efficiency Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new makeup features Performs assigned scientific experiments focused on learning business, process and systems. Follows day-to-day objectives and performs routine tasks according to established procedures. Recommends minor modifications to existing systems, processes, techniques or programs for improvement. Task oriented and works under direct supervision with minimal autonomy; Executes under direction of an expert and offers scientific and technical insight. Works on projects in collaboration with others. Incumbent develops organizational understanding and awareness through exposure to diverse projects, products & teams. Operates current laboratory equipment and instruments and adheres to laboratory safety and SOPs. Collates, analyzes and processes data. Supports accurate record keeping and documentation. Develops contingency plans to minimize delays and risks associated with them. Develops understanding and assists with ensuring compliance with regulatory agency regulations and interpretations. May receive some direction from manager but is typically accountable for delivering on commitments What we are looking for Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field Minimum years of proven experience in skin health product development 0-2 years of experience with BS or equivalent MS with no experience in category Experience with cosmetic/topical formulations is required. Excellent communication and presentation abilities Desired Qualifications Hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation and product development Exposure to developing, formulating and launching beauty and personal care products in the market (co-op, internship, etc.) Ability to manage routine processes and complexity, risk-taking and decision making are critical components of the role in providing guidance and solutions to technical problems What’s in it for you Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges: $68,000.00 – $96,000.00 This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
