Description Position Summary Candid is a nonprofit that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector. We get you the information you need to do good. Candid collects, curates, and maintains the most comprehensive data on the nonprofit sector to empower nonprofits, foundations, researchers, and technology platforms across philanthropy. There is a growing need for this data to be easily accessible in developer channels so that 3rd parties to send and get access to this data in real-time. Candid currently has an opportunity for a Senior API Product Manager. The Senior API Product Manager will own the strategic vision and execution of Candid’s next generation developer platform, including APIs, webhooks, integrations, and developer portal. This role drives revenue growth by making nonprofit sector data accessible to developers and third-party platforms in real-time. You’ll identify market opportunities, understand developer needs, and translate requirements into platform capabilities while collaborating with Growth and Operations teams to optimize the developer experience and business outcomes.

Friday Compensation:

$120,000-$155,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered).

Location:

Remote. In-person attendance is expected during our annual, weeklong all-staff summit. Additionally, participation for in-person meetings is expected at least once per year for most employees, at least once per quarter for senior leaders, and at least once per month for the executive team. Staff that are not in NYC are expected to travel for these meetings.

Responsibilities Product Strategy & Ownership Own productization of external APIs, webhooks, developer portal, and third-party integrations
Define strategic vision, business plan and roadmap for Candid’s next generation developer platform and APIs
Research and analyze API usage patterns to understand developer needs and use cases
Instrument data collection to track developer behavior and API performance Market Intelligence & Requirements Identify and prioritize supply/demand gaps in the developer ecosystem
Translate market opportunities into explicit platform and technical requirements
Conduct competitive analysis and monitor emerging trends in developer tooling
Engage with API users and developers to understand pain points and requirements Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Growth and Ops teams on pricing, packaging, marketing, and operations
Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver API capabilities and developer tools
Work with Solutions Engineers and Support to resolve technical issues and improve developer experience
Coordinate with other Product Managers to align roadmaps and feature releases Product Operations & Growth Establish, track, and optimize key metrics including API usage, developer acquisition, and revenue
Implement and monitor feedback loops and developer satisfaction measurement
Manage product lifecycle from ideation to launch, iterating and optimizing each release
Collaborate on go-to-market strategies for new API products and major releases with marketing and sales
Evangelize API products through demos and stakeholder presentations Requirements 5-7 years product management experience focused on APIs, webhooks, and developer products
Experience building platform products that support multiple development teams
Background in nonprofit/philanthropy sector or working with nonprofit data preferred
Track record of successful 0-to-1 product launches and post-launch iteration
Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and authentication systems
Understanding of developer tools, documentation, and portal experiences
Experience with API analytics, monitoring, and performance optimization
Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Strong developer empathy and understanding of technical user needs
Ability to gather requirements from diverse, often competing stakeholder groups
Data-driven approach to feature prioritization and product decisions
Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences
Strategic thinking with high initiative and cross-functional coordination abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
Equivalent experience considered
