Senior Manager, Search Engine Optimization Location:

3 days onsite, 2 days remote NYC, NY Chevy Chase, MD Chicago, IL Cleveland, OH GEICO is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, SEO to lead key elements of our SEO program with a dedicated focus on commercial insurance. This strategic yet hands-on role will oversee essential aspects of GEICO’s SEO strategy, with a concentration on growing organic search performance for our commercial insurance portfolio. By improving organic rankings, driving traffic, and enhancing conversions, this role will play a critical part in supporting the growth of GEICO’s commercial insurance business. The Senior Manager, SEO will report to the Director, Marketing Strategy, SEO and operate in a collaborative environment alongside cross-functional teams, leveraging cutting-edge tools, technologies, and insights to ensure GEICO maintains a competitive edge in the digital commercial insurance landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, execute, and optimize GEICO’s SEO strategies for commercial insurance, increasing organic search traffic and lead generation within this key business line. Implement advanced technical SEO recommendations (on-page, off-page, and procedural) tailored to the unique needs of commercial insurance offerings, improving site performance and rankings. Support the creation and publication of online articles and digital content by coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing workflows and ensuring timely delivery aligned with brand and SEO guidelines. Maintain rigorous campaign execution practices, including conducting keyword research targeting the commercial insurance audience, on-page optimizations, and competitive analysis in the B2B marketplace. Collaborate with Product, Creative, Tech, and Business teams to establish and implement SEO best practices, ensuring a customer-first mindset. Regularly track, analyze, and report on the performance of commercial insurance-focused SEO efforts and project outcomes, delivering actionable insights to inform strategy refinements. Manage relationships with external SEO agencies, ensuring their efforts align with business objectives for commercial insurance growth and prioritizing high-impact deliverables. Provide strategic recommendations for commercial insurance website content initiatives to ensure GEICO is a top destination for commercial insurance-related searches. Conduct audits of GEICO’s digital properties to uncover opportunities for optimizing technical SEO, collaborating with Product Management to identify and implement impactful IT projects tailored to commercial insurance needs. Stay up to date on Google algorithm changes, AI advancements, and trends in the commercial insurance SEO ecosystem, assessing risks and opportunities specific to this sector. Foster a data-informed culture to test new ideas within the commercial insurance space, gather insights, and implement scalable solutions to drive business growth.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 6+ years of experience in SEO with a proven ability to drive growth, ideally with experience in B2B or commercial-focused industries. Advanced knowledge of technical, on-page, and off-page SEO techniques, as well as search engine ranking factors relevant to commercial insurance searches. Strong proficiency with SEO tools, such as Adobe Analytics, GA4, Google Search Console (GSC), SEMrush, and more. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a focus on commercial markets. Strategic mindset paired with strong analytical skills to derive insights, forecast outcomes, and adjust SEO strategies aimed at commercial insurance growth. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a matrixed organization and influence stakeholders within B2B-focused environments. Proficiency in reporting SEO performance and ROI specific to commercial insurance to leadership with clarity and impact. Understanding of user-first SEO, prioritizing optimal site experiences for customers seeking commercial insurance solutions while adhering to search engine guidelines. Experience managing or collaborating with in-house teams and/or agency partners on projects specific to commercial segments.

Annual Salary $136,325.00 – $212,175.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
