Position Summary:

Goddard United Methodist Church is seeking a creative, technically skilled, and mission-minded individual to serve as our Digital Media & Technology Specialist. This part-time role (10-15 hours/week) is ideal for someone who is self-motivated and can work independently, as responsibilities will be both on-site and remotely. The position focuses on enhancing the church’s digital presence, supporting worship technology, and helping tell the story of our faith community through engaging digital content.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Communication & Content Creation (Remote): Maintain and update the church website and social media platforms Design and post weekly content to inform and inspire (e.g., event graphics, devotional posts, announcements). Develop strategies for increasing online engagement and outreach. Film and edit video promos and other media to be shared on social media platforms. Worship Technology & AV Support (On-Site as Needed): Knowledge & willingness to operate or support audiovisual and livestream equipment (e.g., camera, sound, streaming) on Sunday mornings or during special events. General troubleshooting ability with a variety of technology

Administrative & Creative Collaboration:

Coordinate with church staff to gather and share information for digital communication. Archive sermon recordings and upload to appropriate platforms. Create digital flyers, promotional graphics, and basic video or audio edits as needed.

Qualifications:

Proficiency with digital tools such as Canva, website editors, social media, and email platforms. Experience with or willingness to learn church AV systems (soundboard, camera, live-streaming equipment). Strong communication and time management skills. A creative eye for design and storytelling. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with church staff. Commitment to the mission and ministry of Goddard United Methodist Church.

Compensation:

Hourly pay commensurate with experience. Flexible schedule—half on-site/half remote
