week ago Full-Time | Hybrid Work Schedule | Paid Position As part of the Marketing Department, the Content & Social Media Specialist role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to Tampa Bay United’s social media presence, especially through phone-based content creation. You’ll focus on producing engaging content such as short video edits, and other mobile-first formats for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. We’re looking for a self-motivated candidate who is ready to jump in from day one. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with a dynamic team are essential. Applicants should have a basic understanding of Tampa Bay United and youth soccer, with a confidence in presenting fresh ideas in a team environment. Experience creating social media content on Meta (Instagram, Facebook), TikTok, Reels, and X is required. A keen eye for detail, excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation is essential. Proficiency in using mobile apps for video editing is necessary, while experience with graphic design tools is a plus but not required. While not a primary responsibility, experience in shooting photos and videos with a digital camera is also advantageous. A background in sports or sports-related content creation is preferred. Candidates must be flexible with their schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the role will support our social media presence during key events and game days. This position will be instrumental in shaping the team’s social media strategy and content across all platforms and accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Create, organize, and share content across Tampa Bay United’s social media platforms.
• Identify and develop short-form social content that engages our audience.
• Track the latest trends and popular content across social platforms, and regularly share updates with the social media team.
• Create short, engaging social media content that highlights grassroots aspects of Tampa Bay United, with a strong emphasis on capturing and sharing video stories.
• Collaborate with other social and content team members, as well as external partners when needed.
• Archive the team’s social media content for future use.
• Track the performance of Tampa Bay United’s social media campaigns through post-tagging and analytics.
• Assist in responding to member questions and inquiries via social media where required.
• Write entertaining, accurate social media copy while maintaining Tampa Bay United’s unified brand voice.
• Contribute innovative ideas for new projects and social media campaigns.
• Capture social content on match days and special events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

College degree preferred in marketing, communications, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of creating new-media social content for real-time consumption.
• Awareness of historical, current, and future trends across social media platforms.
• Ability to adapt and innovate when new platforms or content formats are introduced.
• Knowledge of soccer and Tampa Bay United programs.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
