Senior Engineer
Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc. We are looking for two (2) Senior Engineers with U.S. Navy (military or government) experience (10+ years) and a deep understanding of U.S. Navy software/hardware systems such as Mine Warfare and Environmental Decision Aids Library (MEDAL), Mission Package Computing Environment (MPCE), or the Multiple-Vehicle Communication System (MVCS). This Senior Engineer will provide In-Service Engineering Support to fielded systems from multiple locations including IPS, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), and various world-wide locations. A sample of responsibilities are provided below.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of documentation to support operation of fielded software systems.
Participate in fielding events at CONUS and OCONUS locations, or via phone as reach-back support, to conduct Conditional Assessment and Repair Evaluation (CARE) visits and provide on-site Fleet support.
Develop documentation required for fielding events such as pre-installation procedures, installation procedures, System Operational Verification Test (SOVT), and user acceptance procedures.
Provide assistance to the Government in developing, collating, and submitting pre-deployment permission/certification packages such as Ship Change Documents and Fleet Readiness Certification Board packages.
Provide assistance with Alteration Installation Team (AIT) activities and documents. This will be conducted under the guidance of the Government On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC).
Assemble system hardware per system drawing packages. Provide guidance for End of Life (EOL)
MPCE ISEA
hardware components.
Develop system software baseline images and ongoing maintenance thereof.
Maintain information and structure of the SAILOR site, a government-hosted site.
Acts as a liaison between the Fleet Units and the project team.
Participate in activities required to complete integration of the U.S. Navy system into hosting networks. This includes completion of documentation and forms required by the hosting network organization,
development of procedures to support integration events, and post-event reporting and documentation.
Contribute to the execution of test events via running test cases, recording results, performing post-event data analysis, Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) reporting, and identifying potential project risks.
Review, evaluate, consolidate and effectively communicate in writing technical documentation including test reports, shipboard specifications, engineering drawings, and training documentation.
Support the development, validation, and verification of system-level requirements and incorporate those requirements into System Product Specifications.
Track inventory sparing and report
MPCE ISEA
asset statuses.
Additional ISEA support tasks as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Military or government experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
10 or more years of prior Department of the Navy experience (military, civilian, or contractor).
May be required to obtain certification(s) to be part of the
NSWC PCD C
bersecurity Workforce (CSWF).
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Travel:
Travel could be as much as 15% each year.
Tools and Technology:
Most work will be conducted on a computer provided by Innovative Professional Solutions (IPS). The government may also provide a computer to accomplish tasks.
Some web-based tools will be used such as CMPro, Fusion, JIRA, MBPS, Fleet Scheduling Center, and Navy Data Environment.
Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Teams).
Working Conditions/Environment:
Work will be conducted at an IPS Panama City Beach, Florida, office as well as at NSWC PCD and other CONUS and OCONUS locations.
