- Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a highly experienced
- Senior Principal Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- with a strong background in U.
S. Navy programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining deep awareness of customer challenges, and delivering client-focused solutions. This individual will bring extensive client-facing project experience supporting the Navy and/or relevant commercial clients. Success in this role requires the ability to engage directly with senior stakeholders, shape strategic initiatives, and drive growth within Navy-related markets.
- What you will do as a
Senior Principal SME:
- + Identify new opportunities within the Navy contracting environment primarily focusing on Panama City, FL (and nearby Navy commands), the broader Naval Surface and Subsurface Warfare Centers and Naval Sea Systems Command and related Program offices + Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the Navy engineering domain.
+ Maintain strategic relationships with Navy program and contracting entities. + Identify current and future engineering needs withing the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, FL. + Develop, test, and integrate small to mid-sized UUVs, to include autonomous sensing, control, payload integration, and delivery related to the Navy’s Mine Warfare mission as executed at NSWC Panama City. + Modeling and simulation related to the Navy Mine Warfare mission and specific classified operational problems. + Infrastructure development and construction in the expanding footprint of Naval Support Area (NSA) Panama City + Advice on Navy operational protocols, technologies, strategic priorities, and wartime operational implementation. + Offer insights that shape program development, proposal strategies, and technical content.

Preferred Experience:
- + Draft technical manuals, operational guides, and reports related to Navy systems and technologies. + Develop compelling white papers, proposals, presentations, and training products for the Navy stakeholders. + Ensure compliance with Navy standards and regulatory requirements in all technical content. + Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Education:
- + Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with 18+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 16+ years of experience.
