TOMS Training and Simulation Specialist ACLC is seeking a Tactical Operational Medical Skills (TOMS) Training and Simulation Specialist to support the Medical Modernization Program Management & Tactical Operations Medical Skills Lab Services contract at the Tactical Operations Medical Skills (TOMS) Lab, Hurlburt Field, FL. This role supports AFSOC’s medical modernization and readiness objectives through the design, development, and delivery of advanced medical training. The specialist will work closely with the AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff to implement training systems, manage simulation resources, and provide hands-on instruction in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and related operational medical skills. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in military medical operations, curriculum development, and simulation based training. This position requires physical readiness for field-based instruction and a strong ability to manage logistics, equipment, and training evaluations in support of AFSOC’s mission-critical capabilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of four (4) years of military medical related experience at a supervisory or managerial level to include experience in providing medical training to subordinates. SOF medical experience is preferred. Associate’s degree or higher with a concentration in Allied Health Services, medical technologist, or related medical fields. Proven experience with the expeditionary medical capabilities, application of Instructional System Development (ISD) processes, curriculum design/development, and analysis through tests and measurements. Contractor personnel must have, and maintain throughout the life of the contract, current Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Instructor status and must be able to obtain and maintain certification as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor. Minimum of four (4) years of managerial experience in planning and accomplishing projects related to military training and operations. Physically capable of performing duties in outdoor environments in field conditions and both willing and capable of lifting objects up to 40 pounds to chest height. Employees will be required to assist with the packaging and movement of equipment required for training and may be required to demonstrate patient carry techniques, in addition to assisting AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in loading and unloading vehicles. Valid driver’s license An active Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in the design, development, testing, implementation, and operation of training systems using new technologies and technical simulators Work with
AFSOC/SG, TOMS
lab staff, and SMEs to develop training plans unique to each AFSOC operational medical capability and provide instruction as required Assist AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in teaching medical skills as determined by TOMS curriculum. Teach medical didactics and skills to military members which include paramedical skills, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) skills and concepts, Multi-Model Patient Movement (MMPM), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and related medical skills as determined by
AFSOC/SG.
Prepare medical exercise scenarios and conduct medical skills and knowledge evaluations of participants. Support AFSOC/SG and TOMS staff in the development and evaluation of TOMS developed training syllabus utilized for medical instruction included in the TOMS curriculum.
