PM Job Summary:

The Lead Ammunition Specialist is responsible for all ASP operations under this effort and must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in supply/ASP management. The Lead Ammunition Specialist must have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and equipment management processes, related regulations and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property as well as thorough knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements. The Lead Ammunition Specialist must possess operational skill and knowledge of the automated systems utilized .

Task:

Provides leadership, work assignments, evaluation, and guidance to others Receives, stores and safeguards A&E in accordance with strict military standards. Posts all required safety, fire, and hazard symbol signs in prominent locations in and around the Ammunition Supply Point. Accomplishes security surveillance to ensure safety and fire prevention. Inspects military and commercial vehicles for operational compliance prior to transport of A&E into and out of the ASP. Stores A&E by compatibility groups, research, and maintain to meet all regulatory requirements. Receives all A&E from customers and inspects for serviceability. Segregates live ammunition from expended. Screens all brass (recoverable components), removes live ammunition, and maintains expended brass until economically feasible for disposition. Investigates and reports all A&E malfunctions. Flags lots in bunkers upon receipt of lot suspension notices, overhead fire notices or lot restrictions. Includes checks of ammunition currently issued. Inspects incoming shipments for discrepancies. Issues A&E to authorized customers. Inventories A&E quarterly or as directed with zero tolerance. Prepares hazardous material for shipment as directed by the National Inventory Control Point. Constructs and labels shipping containers, pack items and prepare shipment manifest. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee’s current rate. Escorts motor carriers to and from the ASP. Reviews customer documents prior to data entry. A ssists other personnel assigned to the Ammunition Supply Point. Operates and maintains material handling equipment (MHE). Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process. Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards, etc. Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL’s) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals. Adhere to government, contract, and company policies and procedures. Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information. Maintain a safe and secure work environment. Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, and workload requirements, etc. Must adhere to all PTi quality, safety, and environmental standards

Education and Experience:
Experience:

Three years of work experience with two years direct ammunition and/or hazardous materials storage, handling, and shipping experience.

Desired:

Five years in military A&E.

Skills:

Perform common mathematical tasks. Read and comprehend documents pertaining to job performance, i.e., technical manuals, specifications, DA pamphlets and regulations.

Desired:

Proficient in mathematical statistical calculations. Certificate, License, Registration, etc.: Must be able to pass National Agency Check (NAC) and local records check. Must possess military certification for the handling of ammunition. Forklift license and State driver’s license. May be required to obtain military driver’s license.

Desired:

Successful completion of Intro to Ammo-45/CBT Course, EPA Munitions Rule Phase II Course, Familiarization and Safety Training (HM-126) Course, and Class V Issue, Turn-in and Residue Recovery Procedures (AMMO-64 CBT) Course.

Education:

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
