Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship Required Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program Disclosure of Political Appointments Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Legal clerk ability in analyzing present facts and the ability to plan, organize and meet extreme time sensitive deadlines is highly desired. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours. This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified positions IAW the Nional Defense Authorizion Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have least one (1) year of specialized experience the next lower grade GS-05 , or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes in depth knowledge of and skill in applying broad knowledge of military pay/personnel rules, laws, regulions, procedures, and precedents reling to military programs sufficient to resolve compliced pay and legal pay problems and/or to determine and process a full range of military pay transactions and reconstruct pay records.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE

POSITIONS
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs): Your qualificions evalued on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a large body of rules, regulions, laws, and procedures for one or more military pay specializions; the da system(s) used to support military pay action and federal debt collection and incarcerion rules and regulions sufficient to compute, audit and process a variety of requests and corrections for military pay/personnel actions. Knowledge of a standardized body of military personnel regulions and procedures reling to military assignments, confinement, separions and retirements, testing, passports, and of the form, content, and uses of military personnel records and the procedures and requirements regarding their maintenance sufficient to process a variety of requests for personnel action. Knowledge of basic military organizional structure, protocol, and similar mters. Knowledge or military pay/personnel automed systems and various office automion hardware, software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operions and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, etc. Ability to communice effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relionships AND ability to interpret/ analyze/apply regulions and procedures reled to military pay. Knowledge of procedures and rules concerning travel orders processing for transfers, leave and discharges as well as comprehensive financial and accounting processes and procedures.
