Have fun providing guided tours at the American Prohibition Museum sharing the history of our region. Position Purpose The position must have a good sense of fun and a desire to entertain. Our guests judge our company and all of our employees by the way you handle your duties. The Prohibition Actor – Keyholder’s job is to bring Prohibition history to life in a respectful, accurate, and engaging way. As a keyholder, you will assist with some of the manager-on-duty functions in addition to giving tours. Requirements Requirements & Essential Functions Present historically accurate information in an entertaining manner in costume, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, several time a work shift, in a clear, loud, audible voice without amplification for an audience of up to 65 persons. Must remain on show schedule when performing. Portray costumed historical characters to teach or interpret local history. Study and rehearse roles from scripts to interpret, learn, and memorize line/cues as directed. Provide guided tours or work in a gallery as assigned. Learn and be able to train the staff about characters in scripts and their relationship with each other to develop role interpretations. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school graduate or equivalent preferred Strong interest in Prohibition history is desirable Prior performance or interpretation experience strongly preferred Other Requirements Must pass pre-employment, MVR/background check and substance abuse testing. Must have, or be able to obtain, a bar card or equivalent within two weeks of hire. Have a passion for helping people and making their Savannah experience a memorable one.
