Acting Superintendent Assistant Superintendent Responsibilities include – Must be able to manage maintenance staff of 25 porters, handymen & painters/carpenters. Building repairs, Preventive maintenance including plumbing, electrical, locks, mechanical equipment and carpentry. Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs, must be able to walk up and down stairs and around one square block apartment complex. Daily inspections and maintenance schedule for boiler room, roof fans, hallways, basements as well as common areas for cleanliness, snow removal. Abilitiy to respond to emergencies, act under pressure and have a pleasant demeanor to all residents is crucial. Position begins with 120 day trial period which could lead to permanent employment if candidate meets with approval of General Manager & Assistant GM. At end of trial, if accepted, candidate will enter Union 32B/32J. Starting hourly pay is based on experience. Must have current driver’s license. Must have
S12 & S13
Standpipe & Sprinkler Fire Dept. certifications. Must have P-99 Certificate of Fitness for Low pressure oil burner operator.
