$43.8K – $55.5K a year 16 hours ago Qualifications Apache Hive Mid-level Dancing Leadership 2 years Teaching Full Job Description Hive Hip Hop Crew is an all-male hip-hop dance team, which is a part of Hive Entertainment for the Charlotte Hornets. Hive Hip Hop Crew performs at select games throughout the season as well as appears at various community events throughout Charlotte. The Hive Hip Hop Crew Lead Choreographer is primarily responsible for selecting music and choreographing routines for approximately 50% of performances and coordinating the gameday activities as it relates to Hive Hip Hop Crew, in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Entertainment Teams & Talent. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overall team leadership of Hive Hip Hop Crew, managing rehearsals, choreographing a set number of in-game performances, and assisting with identifying and booking guest choreographers. On an as-needed basis, they will assist with Honey Bees and other Hive Entertainment collaborations. Core Values HSE embodies the following core values: Integrity Teamwork Competitiveness Candor Accountability Resilience Essential Duties and Responsibilities Select, edit, and mix performance music as needed Assist with team auditions, recruitment, and the evaluation of new talent Assist with identifying and booking guest choreographers Choreograph at least 50% of in-game performances in collaboration with guest choreographers and Honey Bees choreographer Maintain a positive, balanced atmosphere in a team environment Assist with game night and event responsibilities Serve as team-lead on gameday and HSE events as-needed Track attendance at games and rehearsals, and appearances as-needed Other duties as assigned by Manager Required Skills, Experience and Abilities To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies: Minimum 3 years of professional dance experience, with a strong background in hip-hop, breakdancing, battle styles, and other street dance genre 2-3 years of experience teaching and choreographing dance, with a focus on Hip Hop, battle, break-dancing, and/or other styles of street dancing Knowledge and understanding of Charlotte dance community Proven leadership experience and ability to manage a dance team in high-energy environments Must be able to attend all Honey Bees rehearsals, games, and as-needed events or appearances including nights, weekends, holidays, appearances and show adaptability to changing demands and schedules Additional Information The Hive Hip Hop Crew Lead Choreographer is a part-time position with a monthly stipend related to performance preparation.
