Part-time Contractual (15-20 hours weekly) Job Summary The Praise and Worship Director oversees the blended/contemporary worship ministry at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, fostering spiritual growth through intentional musical and liturgical leadership. This role involves curating worship experiences that integrate traditional and modern elements, collaborating with pastoral staff, and equipping teams to facilitate congregational engagement. Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership & Planning Plan and lead blended/contemporary worship services, ensuring theological alignment with the church’s vision and the scriptural/ sermon themes. Select hymns, songs, and liturgical elements that bridge traditional and contemporary styles, prioritizing congregational participation. Coordinate with the pastoral team to design services that enhance spiritual formation and communal worship. Team Development Assist in the recruiting, training, and mentoring of volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members. Conduct weekly rehearsals to ensure musical excellence and team preparedness. Foster a collaborative and spiritually nurturing environment for worship teams. Technical & Administrative Duties Oversee sound, lighting, and media preparation (e.g., ProPresenter). Manage maintenance of musical instruments, musical equipment, and worship resources Coordinate with the tech team to ensure seamless execution of worship elements. Spiritual & Community Engagement Model authentic worship leadership, guiding the congregation toward meaningful encounters in their spiritual growth and faith in Christ. Participate in outreach initiatives, workshops, or special events to deepen community connections. Qualifications Required Proven experience leading worship in a church setting, with proficiency in piano/guitar and vocal leadership. Strong understanding of Lutheran theology and blended worship practices. Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to feedback. Organizational skills for scheduling, resource management, and service planning.
