General Job Description:

The Worship Arts Director will be responsible for leading, directing, and organizing all aspects of the worship arts ministry at First UMC Kissimmee, and its ministry Open Table Church, including praise team, vocal, instrumental ensembles / choir, and other expressions of worship related with our modern worship settings. The Worship Arts Director will coordinate with the pastoral team for large ministry events and special services as needed. The Worship Arts Director will supervise the volunteer teams and team members serving in our worship arts ministries. The Worship Arts Director will also oversee production and technology aspects of each service.

Primary Duties:

Select, plan, and lead spiritually uplifting modern music for weekly Open Table Service including English modern service and Spanish modern service. Supervise all staff and volunteers related to the worship department: including interns, volunteer musicians, singers, and audio visual team. Responsible for overseeing and preparing a Music Ministry budget in conjunction with Lead Pastor. Participate in the creative planning of any special services with the Lead Pastor and staff. Recruit, equip, shepherd, supervise music team staff, leaders, volunteers and musicians. Leads congregational singing with a worship team or solo. Lead, coordinate, and develop seasonal special music performances as part of the church’s greater outreach effort to the community. Communicate clearly and consistently with the Lead Pastor, staff, and worship team. Oversee the production of special events and programs (including Easter/Christmas/Holy Week Services). Actively care for and maintain digital and physical inventory of music materials, supplies and musical instruments. Provide support as needed for the Traditional Worship Service team. Encouraged to maintain a consistent program of evaluation and self-improvement. Stays informed on current music trends, materials, promotional ideas, administrative techniques, and trainings within the Florida United Methodist Conference. Attends regular meetings with the Lead Pastor and weekly staff meetings.

Bachelor’s degree in music. (preferred but not required) Minimum 2-5 years experience in a church related setting. (preferred) Worship Service Times Sunday at 8:30 AM (Traditional), 10:00 AM (English Modern) & 11:30 AM (Spanish Modern)
