0 Lower School Music Educator & 4th-5th Grade Chorus Director The Out-of-Door Academy seeks to hire a Lower School Music Educator & 4th-5th Grade Chorus Director to join our team for the 2025-26 school year. This full-time position is responsible for delivering a comprehensive music curriculum to students in Pre-K through 5th grade on both the Siesta Key and the Clark Road campuses, with a special focus on directing the 4th and 5th grade chorus. Reporting to the Head of Lower School, the Lower School Music Educator & 4th-5th Grade Chorus Director will be responsible for the following: Develop and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate Pre-K through 5th grade general music curriculum.
Lead and direct the 4th and 5th-grade chorus, preparing students for performances throughout the year.
Foster a love of music through singing, movement, rhythm, and instrumental instruction.
Prepare students to perform in concerts and other events.
Collaborate with grade level and special educators on inter-departmental projects.
Organize and direct school concerts, performances, and community engagement opportunities.
Be an active member of the Florida Music Educators Association.

Qualifications
The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and /or preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in music education required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience music classroom teaching; ideally in an independent school setting.
Orff, Music Garden, or Lower School Music Certification (F1 K-12) preferred.
Passion for choral music and experience leading elementary-aged choirs.
Passion for learning and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Proficient with Word, Excel, and the Google drive platform.
A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, educators, staff, and parents.
Compensation and Benefits This is a 10-month full-time exempt position available in August 2025.
